I just got done testing these and everything works.

Anyhow I was in a Pawn shop in Independance Mo...I asked if the had any mics because occasionally I look for cool stuff.

So the counterguy pulls this gator case out from under the counter full of dynamic mics...so I pull one out and he asks me what I think it is worth and I said One hundred dollars...so he said $125 ...and he meant for the whole case...so I bought them...here is what was inside of the case.

8- SM58 mics...older and road worn so they are real
3- SM57 mics...older and road worn
1- Beyer Dynamic TG-X20...Im not sure what its worth but online TG-X60s are $350
1- EV ND357
and as a cherry on top
1-Sennhieser MD421

Not fair!! I want a good deal like that. Really it's a cool buy.

Hell, I'll give you $125 just for the 421...and then you'll break even.

Im keeping the MD421 and the Beyer...all the SM57s and one of the SM58s.

Ive got the rest on Craigslist for $60 each...I should get arround $500

I feel bad for the guy who had all those stolen. But I feel good for you.

I'm still looking for my 1963 Fender Bandmaster that was stolen from a club in Baltimore.

How come every time I go bargain hunting at a pawn shop all they have is old rusty nail guns and crappy old beat up guitars with busted pegs?

If they were hot...they never reported it...they have to report anything they buy in to the police in both Missouri and Kansas...and he said they had been there 6 months.

What a deal!!! Old SM57's usually sound better too! The road abuse helps the sound or something.

Sh*t, here in Vegas there are tons of Pawn shops and there's a chain of stores called SuperPawn. Problem is they are too hep to what stuff is worth. They would NEVER let that a deal like that happen. I've seen beat up old 58's there for $85. I'll say to them "That's pretty much what they are new!" "Oh...well sorry...you want it?"

This was a big chain too...at least here it is...I was hoping that they would have another case full of condencers too...because they obviously didnt know what they had there.

I check the pawn shops around here and they never have professional microphones. Sometimes they have crappy Radio Shack mics or mystery plastic body mics terminated with a 1/8" plug.
Anyways, you got a heck of a deal. Score for you!

Funny story about that...I was in a pawn shop last week and encountered a bogus counterfiet SM57...and the shop had it marked at $89...while they are $95 new at the guitar center...lol.

Do you really believe that? I'm sorry. I'm not buying that story.

After years of abuse the diaphragm probably gets fatigued, cracked, dirty, and mildewy causing it to become less sensitive. The sound likely gets dark and dull if anything. I suppose some may describe that as "warmer." Not me.

Mics sound better played in...alot like guitar strings...I have 40 yo Shure 565s and they sound pretty decent.

Not that this fits into the "Microphone" section but I just picked up a Korg 01/w PRO for $75.00. Average price for the model below the Pro (01/wfd) averages around $540.00 (according to PrePal) so I'm sure the Pro must go for more.

I think that is an early digital synth...if it was analog...you could get $1000 for it...I sold a Monopoly synth a month back for $1000,,,I bought it for $25

I have so far made $390 off the mics...plus sold other items while the Craigslist guys were here...while keeping the MD421 and the 3 SM57s and the beyer mic.

Funny story about pawnshops and why you shouldn't support them.

I walked into one a few years after having my bass guitar stolen and saw it hanging on the wall. I'm still curious - WWJD? Because I was mighty tempted to grab the thing off of the wall and run, but my wife reasoned me out of it. Anyway, I phoned the cops and they have a few guys devoted to pawnshop crime. Got the bass back.

There's a Pawn Shop near me and they only sell junk I don't need like game systems and vcr's. Not to many musicians around hear I guess.

I live in a major city and this place was in a suburb...but not one of the fancy suburbs...you do see alot of deals here.
