can you multi-track record electronic drums? midi or audio. i think i've seen it done with a roland v12 in which it had a separate track for each drum, and it was audio not midi. just like a real kit. but from all the research i've done on different brands and types of electronic drums for the life of me i can't figure out how to do it :(

any help?

or am i crazy?

record a click track then record your kick pattern on a seperate track. then your snare on a seperate track. then each of the other drums and cymbals all on seperate tracks.

yes. you're crazy. it'll never sound like someone playing real drums.

haha no not like that
i mean one take records all. i honestly can't remember how he did it. can you output each individual pad to a track?

and no i'm not crazy! :D RET drums that's all i have to say

I don't see how. How many outputs does your module have?

well that's the thing it wasn't mine pre say.. it was my friends roland. the 5000 dollar v drum one. i looked up the module and it only has two outs?? left and right????? wtf i'll ask him

you can do the tracks seperately and they'll line up fine as long as the tempo doesn't change. like i said, program the kick pattern, record it into PT, erase it on the DM and program the snare, then drop it into PT, etc.

The DM prbably has multiple outs so you can do the kick and snare together and send them out on seperate channels. Then do the hi-hats and cymbals the same way, then toms....

i should have just asked him in the first place and saved everyone the trouble. it was a roland TD-20 we recorded with. ergo individual outs for each pad. my bad guys. problem solved

as always thanks for trying to help
