I am hereby banning all cover songs on this website from this moment forward. What is the point??!??!

This cover is absolutely HORRIBLE. What the heck is the point of this?? Seriously. Why even bother? This is HORRIBLE.

Thanks loads for the rude comments. Why don't you just go and discourage somebody else. It is anoyingly condescending people like you who chase people out of following their dreams by beating them into the dirt with your rudness. I am SO sorry if I offended the golden ears of gods gift to music sir. Now why don't you just go and listen to your great music in a nice huge anechoic chamber so none of the work of us no talent hacks can spoil your holy sound waves.

That sounds pretty badass. Some pretty crazy compression on stuff, but it totally makes the whole ratty saturated vintage vibe. The guitar that comes in on the right is pretty sweet. Funny how the unwanted degradation and limits of analog is so cool sounding sometimes.

I love the tape hiss on this. Very well done. Nice overloaded vocals. Forget the electronica man...stick to this kind of stuff ;)

Well, I don't actually do much electronica anymore. I just left that as my default genre because I am too lazy.

The hiss was done on purpose. So was the vinyl record sounds. It was done on a laptop in reaper. I thoght it sounded too clean, so I dubbed it off onto a cassette tape, then back onto the computer. After that, i ran it through a vinyl simulator, and then added the needle drop sound, and the runout groove. Everything in the song is intentional, including the lack of reverb, and the overloaded vocals.

Yeah, but covers suck. :D :D

You really pulled it off; you got exactly what you were trying for, and I like the style choices, all except the clipped vocals, that was a little distracting.

Good stuff!!

I listened before I read so I though LP & vinyl noise 1st up - even wondered - "Is he going to be playing along to an album?"
I don't need technology for lofi though - my gear & I do it naturally.
An interesting take.
Well done.

Yeah, this song is on The White Album. Its a pretty short (this guy made a longer version) little diddy.

I know this thread is a bit old but I was looking for a song you said was off The White Album. The only Beatles song I could find was Her Majesty. That song was not from The White Album but it was off Abbey Road. It was the last song on side two. If I missed another one I apologize. Just wanted to set the record straight.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking until you pointed out how old this thread is. He must have taken it down, because there's nothing from the White Album on his page.

Hey,

The ony Beatles song I saw on your page is Her Majesty, which is obviously not on the White Album, so I'm not really sure which song you did.... If I had to guess by other peoples' comments it's Why Don't We Do It In The Road, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, the White Album is the finest album ever created in any genre of music so you get the big thumbs up sign from me! Just the fact that it exists is enought to redeem your hope in mankind, you know... with all the complexity and depth of the world's great works of art.

Without hearing the song it's a little hard to comment! However, on the issue of the "vintage vinyl" fx... the Beatles themselves did the same trick on the same album on the song Honey Pie, so it might work as an homage...

This post was made about a year ago, and somebody dug it up. It was do it in the road, but I took it down. I just didn't think it was all that great.

-Adam.

Mystery solved. Thanks for letting me know. I did like the songs I heard. Good luck.
