MAC Vs PC

Microsoft don't make PCs just the OS and Windows OS has run on apple for years so the joke doesn't quite work. Actually if you think about it it's a fairly major success, they're actually selling OSs to their competitors customers while apple is hobbling their OS so it only works on their platform (and the soon to be current OS will only work on the current machines to the chagrin of many of us PPC owners) to keep the stability reputation, thus limiting themselves to a smaller piece of the pie in terms of sales.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this pic is genuine

Not attacking anyone by ANY means....but I am finding something very strange here?

How come I have owned PCs all my life and use the internet 65% of my time and I have NEVER had a Virus and DONT have anti virus protection???

Seems like this is the case it boils down to.....if you are stupid...USE a Mac....if you smarter than your cup of coffee.....use a PC....end of story...

AGAIN NOT ATTACKING ANYONE, or POINTING FINGERS

Also no the quality doesnt make any differece....its all in the User.

Not attacking anyone? Really? You just called me stupid. And as much as I love my Mac(s) I didn't attack PC's (or PC users) in any way. I know and own them both, but happen to prefer one over the other. That doesn't make others stupid. But to your way of thinking, it does?

Nice way to make your point.

Ohhh...now it's a silly joke. I guess if I weren't so stupid, I'd have realized that in the first place.

But since I am stupid, it just looks to me like a failed attempt to backpedal. A simple "sorry--shouldn't have put it that way" would have sufficed.

Silence would have been better.
 
You know what? This is why I tend to stay away from PC Vs Mac Threads.

Everyone gets so damn cocky, why? A joke should be cought on a forum like this in the first place.....

Well lets see here, first off in a joking kinda way, we all know when we do stupid things....

But if you want to get "technical" about it.....lets break it down...the MAC was made "or became popular" for the simple reason that people were having issues with PC being Unstable, Viruses, and Preformance. This wouldnt of ever been a problem if people would stop being so damn unpatiant, take a minute and watch what you are doing....stop going to stupid azz sites like porn, and hacking key breaker sites.....well gee go figure.

This topic is a Never Ending Shit Throwing Compition....yeah so what the Mac is more stable....the PC is more versitile...the Mac is Cooler Looking....the PC is built like a tank.....the list goes on and on....

The OP wanted to know what had better audio quality.....there is no difference. Let it go....EVERYONE can sit here and throw shit back at each other all day....
 
I own Macs & PCs, so in the name of some blue humor, I like to say "I swing both ways." ;)

I'm pretty sure Mac's became "popular" for being a good product. Not that a PC isn't a good product. I can't honestly say that if OSX ran well on a PC I wouldn't go that route, I don't know. But since it doesn't I go with mac. PC advocates can yell at "us mac users" all they want about how OSX is just flashy and less configurable but you can dig down and do all the same stuff as on a PC on a MAC if you know what you're doing. Again, it all comes down to personal preference with the operating system. My guess is half the PC only users out there haven't even given MAC a shot and if they did they might actually want to switch, and vice versa for mac to pc. People like what they are accustomed to and if you grew up with a PC and never knew any reason to switch to Mac why would you? If you haven't extensively used both platforms you can't know for sure which one is better for your personal application(s). Do research, try a machine out before you buy it, ect ect. Now everyone go out into the world and get off the computer! :D:D

Macs ARE flashy and less configurable, period. And in my opinion, they don't sound half as good as a pc for digital audio recording.
 
Allow me to ask a question ya'll might not know the answer to but I'd like your opinions if you had a moment.

My wifey is an advertising exec and she's gotten into designing her own ads 'cause no one around here's doing stuff the quality level she wants. So she's become a bit of a 'puter software nut ...... lots of graphics .... etc.

She's now saying that she needs a Mac " 'cause all designers use Macs ... they all do". She has no clear reason for wanting one ..... just the vague statement that everyone uses one.
I've pointed out that they're expensive plus she'd have to replace all her software. She still thinks she needs one.
Is she right?
Or have snooty artsy types simply convinced her that a Mac is better for graphics design. For the record ...... she's quite good with a 'puter so the "easy to use" aspect of a Mac wouldn't be a consideration.
But if it's clearly superior it might be worth it.

Actually, if you go into the command shell, it's as configurable as any Linux box. As far as sound quality... :eek: :D
