Does anyone know the Korg Triton?

I exported a midi file from Fruity Loops. When I load it into the Korg Triton keyboard in 'song play' mode it doesn't play. Can someone help me?

I have a Triton Extreme. I never use any of my synths on-board sequencing, if they have it (I use a computer DAW with a software sequencer), but I'd be glad to help you with this, since I have the synth and the manual. Plus, I might learn something useful myself.

So, the song loads, but doesn't play? What is the screen saying?

In the 'Song Play' mode/screen, Page 0, there is the word 'file' just below the top left corner of the screen. Next to it is the actual file name (this part actually points to the file on disk). And to the right of that is the name of the file (I know it sounds confusing but that's how the Triton is).
In my situation the file name to the right is blank, but to the left the actual filename is there (the name of the file should be on the left and right). When I press play the Triton actually freezes up and then i have to turn power off and back on to reset it. But peep this, when i load a midi file from protools it plays and everything works.
This is how i've been doing it: I make a song in protools via midi, playing the Triton. I save the midi file and load it in the Triton. And it plays.
On the other hand I made a song in fruity loops using all the fruity loops instruments. I save the file as midi and load it up in the triton and it doesn't play.

I have abandoned the use of the on board sequencing all together.. you're better off running midi cables back to the triton.. and then just sequence the midi in PT or FL whatever.. you can use the sequencer within the daw to control the triton like a synth module, though don't ask me how to set the korg up to support this... the korg is not at all user friendly.. everything is convoluded and doesn't really flow well..

I personally prefer just recording the audio by playing it.. with elastic audio I have found this is the fastest way for me.. Keeps me creative..

I know this wasn't much help for what you're trying to do.. I would look more into setting it up as a synth module via midi though and I think you'll like that a lot more than importing the midi.

If I understand you right then you can sequence midi in PT and it plays your triton when you play that midi sequence from withing PT?

If so then the hard part is over.. all you have to do is set the korg as the input to an audio track then arm it to record... press record.. it will print the audio to the audio track.. Most of the time I make an aux input that I route the korg to so I can hear it without arming a track and recording.. then just buss it to an audio track when I'm ready to record it..

If I missed something and you don't have it setup the way I think you do.. then all you have to do is go from the midi output on your interace.. to the midi input on the korg.. this allows other devices to send midi messages to the korg..

You can definitely record audio while playing midi at the same time.. in fact everytime you print midi to audio that's exactly what you'r doing.. midi is nothing but data.. think of it as the fingers on the keys of triton.. it just tells the triton what to play..

There may be more to it as far as the settings within the korg getting it to recognize midi messages, but if so I couldn't tell you where or how to set them.. I would think just using a midi track within pro tools and selecting the korg for the midi track should do it.. If I get real ambitious tonight I'll set it up and tell you more specifically how.. best of luck to you.

Ok im a little confused as to what you are trying to accomplish. Basically what im getting (correct me if im wrong) is that you are making a midi track in FL and then converting it to audio using the Triton? I have a triton studio(classic now) and all I do is sync up the triton to PT using Time code and go from there. Or you can record the instrument on the triton, fix what you need to fix if need be and then sync record to PT.

What is it that you are trying to do?
