Who Are These People & Where Do They Come From?
Seriously - I don't want a forum dominated by l'ancient regime but it's nice to recognise a name occasionally.
Where have you folk gone to & can I come too?

I'm Dr.SpringReverb and i come from the castle of reverb, located on the corner of echo hill and pre-delay street

Yeah this shit is freaking nutty.

Where have you folk gone to...?
I'm still around but haven't been posting much. Re new members, I think there have been similar influxes in the past but they were masked by the fast pace of existing member posts here. HR has slowed overall.

Dragon and the AF admins could write a book on How to Kill a Website.

Stick around Ray, we need your golden ears!

Hey, Greg L,
In the "What is Talent?" thread, you were highly recommended, and I went looking to hear some of your stuff, but was unsuccessful. Can you direct me, so I may have the pleasure of hearing your talent?
Or maybe another one of you guys can give me a clue.

I've only been around a few months, but have found HomeRecording.com to be a very informative and helpful place. I think it's really nice that there are several, very talented, very experienced musicians and recording gurus who are willing to help people here.

Don't believe everything you hear. ;)

I'm a cancer of music. :D

If you'd like to get cancer too, just do a thread title search under my name. I've posted probably a hundred songs in here. Some decent, some terrible.

I still don't have a working PC at home..I'm in Georgia for while longer but the PC here only has PC speakers...soooo...I haven't been around. I miss it in this forum. Great one for learning.

Just listening and asking questions and applying the answers when doing your own recordings is a great way to learn. These guys are famous for trying all kinds of recording methods..and for getting great results..and RayC, you are amongst those in this clinic to learn from..along with...

WhiteStrat
GregL
RAMI
SuperCreep/Incanus

There are others here as well, who have put a LOT of time in at their home studios to learn the recording-production process, but my bwain is on memory freeze at the moment...so forgive me if I left you out of the list.

..and the thing that amazes me about them, is that not only do they have recording skillz...but they are all TALENTED musicians...which brings to to the thread question, "What is Talent?"...just pay attention and listen to these guys and you will come to realize, that talent is not just practice, gift or knowledge...but all three combined....add passion, diligence and a little bit of cwazy to the brew and you GOT AMAZING talent.;)

Do I, myself, record much better because of these guys..no, but that is because I'm recording retarded...:D:eek::D

Hi well I'm new to this site, erm I come from Hull UK, its a tremendous resource for advice, inspiration and occasionally humour:)

Greg's actually pretty good and has some really cool stuff.
Just don't get old around him.
Greg hates old people.
:)

Agree. I think Greg is super talented! I remember a beach boys cover he did, and I was like god! This is better than the original, and you could hear me say that about a lot of people who do beach boys covers. The song Rocket In My Pocket is also a pretty cool one. As for the topic of this thread, I would like to know the same thing. People are just dissapearing. What ever happened to Heatmiser? I haven't heard anything from in in forever. Anybody know?

-Adam.

Lol. Not really, I just like busting balls. You old blues-bar cover hacks are an easy target. ;)

Haha, thanks dude. Rocket in my Pocket was for Rami. He wanted me to do a song that wasn't 200 bpm. I'm not thrilled with it, but it's okay I guess for a silly cliche cock-rock song. :D

lol. By the way, i mistyped what I meant about the beach boys. I mean and you won't hear me say that about a lot of people who do beach boys covers.

I've noticed the new names too. I've been a little busy lately with work and haven't spent as much time as I used to in the clinic....but I still try and drop by once in a while...

Aside from Lt. Bob I seem to be by far the oldest member here (not in age, mind you)..

I have my stints of making music and months or even years where I barely do a thing... so I'm not even sure anyone here recognizes my name. I'm an unsung war vet here :P

But new blood is good, isn't it? If it was just the same 5 people posting crap and patting each other on the back for 10 years this place would be pretty damn boring...

I welcome new blood. The problem is that the new blood seems to be mostly click seekers and "hey check me out" type fellas while giving nothing back.
