Does anyone know of any recording software that works on these two OSs? A friend and I want to share tracks back and forth, but he's running Ubuntu and I'm running xp... thanks in advance for any help!

I'd probably just mix down the tracks and toss WAV files back and forth over the wall.

I agree. On the other hand, your friend might be able to install Reaper under WINE if you both (possibly, unless you're already using it) want to learn another audio program.
