I'm very much new to pro tools: But don't you allocate where you want to save it when you create your session. My son thought he was saving on my external firewire hardrive, but when I reopened it, it was just the mixer screen. (I told him he screwed up!) But I briefly laid some midi tracks yesterday, but I elected to save on my ext HD when creating the session. And upon completion it asked me again, would you like to save session..... Does that make sense?
