My uncle passed away last week and due to his death, his son and my uncles grandchildren all came together in my home town for the funeral. A couple of them reside in other states so to get them all together is a rare thing. They are all musicians and wanted to do a tune together and they chose "Surrender" by Cheap Trick This is what came together. Because of time restraints it was rough and I didnt spend much time getting good signals and mixing it. This take was the third and final take. This is something they can share for a life time. Enjoy http://www.soundclick.com/util/getplayer.m3u?id=7543984&q=hi

I know this was JUST a quick mix.

Instruments sound very good. I think the vocals could use much more compression to fit him better in the mix.

Good Job Man!

I've been wanting to do this and a couple other Cheap Trick covers for awhile... I know it's rough, but it's still a pretty good job!

Good to know the instruments sound fine. I used my new Rokit 8 monitors to mix it. I picked up a set of Rokit 5's also. As soon as I have more time Im gonna hook them all up with a Mackie Big Knob to a/b/c through different monitors. The vocals had alot of bleed in them due to mic placement. I'll work on it some more when I get time. Thanks for the listen.

I really like "Southern Girls" , one of my favorite "Cheap Trick" tunes.

Cheap Trick ... America's most under-rated hardest working band, ON TOUR SINCE 1974

Your version was well done. A fine tribute.

When I first heard IN COLOR in 1977, Southern Girls was my fave. When they play it live, they add the riff to Train Kept a Rollin' to the intro.

If you're truly a Cheap Trick fan, you might appreciate visiting this site (not mine) http://www.dreampolicebootlegs.com/
There are not only audio & video bootlegs, but also 10 backing tracks (2 done by Cheap Trick from raw files of one of the video games and re-mixed by me) and more BT's to come.

Thanks for the link. I've seen Cheap Trick a few times in my many years. The last one was I believe 4 years ago in Cincinnati. They opened for Alice Cooper.

My favorite Cheap Trick song. They did a pretty good job.

I also covered this as one of my first attempts at home recording. No way am I posting it. :D
