Pretty cool rocker here, very 80's flavor to it.

I liked the guitar riffage and the tone suits the song very well, but I'm thinking that the rhythm guitar could come up a bit in the mix relative to the drums (especially during the vocal sections).

Solo could benefit from being a bit more in-your-face (maybe just needs to be louder?).

In general, I think the drums are a bit overpowering in the mix, but that might have been what you were going for.

Best of luck

Thanks mattdee1,
I thought the gtrs needed more db's but wasn't really sure. I'll do some tweaking & re-post to see if it helped or not. Thanks for your reply, your suggestions & most of all thanks for listening!!!:)

Re-mixed

Hey all,
Posted this earlier, needed to bring gtrs up a little, so I raised the vol on them in spots, may be too much now. Let me know if I'm going in the right direction. Thanks!

PS Sorry about the double post:o

Nice feel to it. I thought the drums were a bit hot as well, but sound good.

I feel that the vocal pitch needs to be tuned down a bit. Seems to be sharp overall.

I think you guys are brave to post your stuff up here. I hope to get the nerve to do that someday!

Thanks Music Bear,
I'm still kinda "iffy" about posting my songs, but it's the only way I'll learn anything from these guys. Some of the songs that are posted here are just unreal, I'd like my songs to go in that direction someday.

Don't know what you mean by "turn vocal pitch down", that's just my voice with some reverb & compression. I know I can't sing very well:o but I do the best I can.
Thanks for the listen & the suggestions, still learning!!!

Sorry. I meant that you were singing sharp, and needed to get out the Antares and correct the pitch down a bit...or maybe sing the track over?

Let me say right away that I am NOT a singer, but I have a great ear when it comes to pitch (which is quite annoying at times) and makes it hard to really enjoy some tunes.

Thanks again Music Bear,
I'm not a singer either man, but I do try. I'll try to re-track this maybe this weekend. Do you think I brought the gtrs up too much, not enough? I can always go back & change most things, except my voice!!!:D

Thanks again!!!!!

Hey, I give you props for singing. I wish I could!

The guitars give the tune a nice fat feel.

Hi I'm new and I wanna give some feedback on other people's MP3s before selvishly throwing my own out here (that and thy're not finished yet)

So....I like this song. Think people are being a bit harsh about your singing I really like it, maybe use more than 4 notes though but thats just more of a songwriting critisism not the recording. Really like the guitar work it sounds completely professional and fits perfectly. The kick bugged me a bit though. I'm guessing you're using either MIDI drums, triggers or an electric kit cos the kick seems to have very little dynamics (as in they are all the same volume so the rhythm lacks "feel") Hope this helps :)

Hey Minerman,

The mix overall sounds good, and the vocals aren't bad. THey have a sort of Layne Staley texture to them, except lower. my only comment is that the rhythm guitar is a bit fizzy. I'm not sure how you recorded them, but if you used a mic, I would suggest pushing it more the outside of the speaker, and then turning the mids up on it too.

As a song, I like this a lot. The main riff is badass, and you did a good job with the drums. Nice job :)

Pretty good groovy tune, man. I dig the guitar sound a lot and your playing's really good, so don't be ashamed of showing your stuff. ;) The voice is what it is, sometimes it reminds me of Alice Cooper around 1975....try to double it (that is sing it twice and mix the tracks together compressing and EQ'ing one differently). Nice soloing, too. Drums are loud enough to me I don't find they're overpowering anything. Nice mix, well done!

Joey :):):):)

Thanks everybody,
JoeyM: The vox actually are doubled, but I don't think I eq'd them differently enough. Thanks for the listen & compliments. Take all the advice I can get.

Yorkshire Trippe: Thanks man, I'm getting more comfy with singing, just gonna take time I guess. The drums are Beatcraft, any tips/tricks for making them sound more "real"? Thanks.

FadeToMuffins: Thanks again for your help, & your listen!!!

BTW The gtrs were recorded with a Line 6 SV 2x12, using direct out into a Zoom HD8CD. Recording with a mic isn't an option because of family & neighbors. Any tips/tricks welcome!!!

To fix the fuzzy I would just run the guitar track through a Param-EQ and roll off the highs past 8000 hz or so. This might also make the vocals and solo guitar sit a little better in the mix. But that's just me. The main question to ask is does it sound good to you?

Thanks murdersgalore,
I actually brought the high end on the gtrs up,thought it would give them more "bite". Maybe bring them back down a tad to smooth them out a little? Thanks for the listen & tips, take all the advice I can get!!!:)

Hey all,
I tried some of your suggestions about eq'ing the gtrs to get the "fizzy" sound out of them. Let me know if it helped or not. Also eq'ed the vox some, trying to get more seperation between the tracks. Thanks!!
