This wasn't a hit downunder though the GW & BTO has several between them.
RAMI - well done. Speed can be a help - some of the best recordings is the history of RnR were banged down (and covers too).
Nobody mentioned Due South - there's a classic series - my missus has watched all the dvds at least 8 times...of Dry Ginger Ale...or haven from the draft...or Cpt Cook's best work....or Mounties...or Dudley Dooright...or Silver Wolf or...London on Thames - oh, hang on there is another somewhere I think!
Nice backing vox too.
What's the signal chain on the crunchy guitar?
Oh, top draw
Hehe...You sure you're not a Canuck? You know more about this shit than I do. :D My guitar chain is: Strat-Yamaha DG Stomp pedal-Peavey Studio Pro (Pre-amp in, by-passing everything to only use the speaker)-SM57-TASCAM 2488.
Guess Who is awesome, even if I only know a few songs of theirs (my favorite being that one medley with I think its called a "Its a New Mother Nature" but I probably got the title and the lyric wrong).

This is an amazing song, amazing performance. Great bass tones especially. Probably would have gone with a more classic overdrive for the rhythm guitar. Awesome.
Thanx Froggy. You may be right about the guitar tone, but I have trouble getting ANY good guitar sound, not being a guitar player, so I'm happy to get anything that doesn't ruin the song.

Wow, Duder! Incredible job! Drums sound great and guitars sound great. Your vocals are typical Rami, BUT... where did the guts and gravel come from?!?!?! A new addition to your talents! Loved the harmonies! Wish I knew your secret to getting those harmonies to sound as good as you do.

I loved "Hang On To Your Life" and have always wanted to do a cover of "Share The Land" but you SMOKED this one!!!!
Thanx Jeff. No secret to the vocals. I double the parts (by singing each part twice, not including the lead part) and pan them to taste. Thanx for the words, duder.
Yeah I know this tune well. Sounds awesome dude. Vocals and drums sound great, and the guitars sound fantasticI I don't know if you did anything differently with them this time, but this is the guitar sound I was looking for from your last few efforts. Gritty and edgy but clear. Love it dude. Great job.
Thanx alot, man. It was your constant "harping" on my guitar sound that helped me. :D After your advice on my last tune, I spent a lot of time in the GUITAR and BASS forum reading up. The common theme seemed to be "Less bass, more mids and less distortion". So, I worked on my sound a lot before recording this tune. I really appreciate your advice, or else I probably would have been happy with what I always had. Thanx brother.

Wanted to listen to this a few days ago but could not download at work...before I even heard it, I knew you would rock on this, and I was right. LIke the crunch on the gits, great job on the drums and they sound fantastic! All around very tight man...great job ...as always Rami Rocks!!

I`ve only heard one tune from this band, American woman, wich I used to dig before Lenny raped it:mad::D

anyways I went to Utube and listented to the Original, wich I really dug.

then.... It was time to listen to your version.

What can I say you got it going on:D, you allways do:mad:

Great Vocal preformance, the lead vox on this tune are great you nailed it.

Your version sounds more up to date, but still respecting the original wich I allways dig.

I have nothing to critisise, just praise and thanks for sharing this kick ass tune:)

Canada, eh? As a long time Guess Who fan, I say, WELL DONE. I remember the original, in fact I remember all the Guess Who hits from "Shakin' all Over" onward. Of course, I lived in Minnesota (ya shor) at the time that it was a hit and it got some good air play there, being the southern suburb of Manitoba.

I remember this tune from the radio as a kid. This sounds solid. Drums are awesome. The panning effect on them is just right :). Is there some kind of chorus-phasey effect on the vocals? It's nothing like the last tune you posted, and it might just be me, but it is kind of cool...dunno.

Anyway...super nice job dude :).

RAMI wows us again!:cool::)
Love those gritty guitars, savage but clean somehow. Your voice and the harmonies are right on the spot. I like the way you sink the voice in the mix, do you use a room verb there? No need to comment on the drums, they're way too good! Great version!

Joe :):):):)

Hey guys. Thanx alot for the responses and nice words.

It's nice to take a break from originals every once in a while. And I always learn something when I do a cover.

As for the vocals, there's just a little bit of plate reverb on them. I doubled the whole lead vocal track, which I rarely do. Usually, I mght just double them in the chorus, but in this tune I sang it twice and kept the second track at about half the volume of the first.

Also, for the guitars, I doubled the distortion part (by playing it twice, the only way to do it), but there's one track of a clean guitar tucked in there, too, playing the exact same part.

Thanx again, duders!

Great tune. I always wanted to do a cover of "No Sugar Tonight". Thats my favorite Guess Who tune. Or maybe Albert Flasher or No Time. Good Job Rami.

i like the way the cymbal sounds at 1:30. but it sounds too much like a dumb bar!

Or are you trying to get out of it after realizing you don't have 1% enough talent to even pull off 2 seconds of it????)

Go program some "soul" into your Casio Demo tunes...hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

If you're happy being the laughing stock of the internet with that garbage you call "music", then it proves that ignorance is bliss. Now go change your diapers, retard.:D:D:D:D
