Feb Challenge - Burts input

Well after struggling for weeks it all happened in a rush. Some of the rhymes are a push I guess, but I think it meet the criteria and has continuity you can listen here (sorry Soundclick - allow pop-ups and you should be right)

I'm pleased to see another response to the challenge up.

Where are the others, I wonder . . .

But there's still a handful of days left.

As I feared, work has kept me from engaging in my hobby much over the past few weeks. I do look forward to hearing the contributions of everyone else and commenting. I'll be out of town for the first week of March, so my comments will be slightly belated upon my return around March 6.

I also hope to return to songwriting very soon as well.

Well, I hope to enter the challenge for February, but it will be a last minute addition. I have to say, I shake my head at what I have come up with every time I fiddle with it! A cold and flu is keeping vocals away at the moment, but optomistic that something will be submitted by Saturday's deadline.

I am struggling to find time... my heart is in it but sadly the rest of my body is elsewhere.

It will be the 28th itself before I can record what I have so it'll be a last minute, cobbled together effort ...similar to what you got from me last month!

In fact similar to all my stuff over the last three decades...

Hi Burt, I like the guitar work and strings on this. Very tastefully done. A beautiful, wistful song that retains the singers pride despite the subject matter. I like it.

Good piece, Burt. The music and production were very good and the vocals were okay.

This was my favorite section:
