its a milestone!

It's really terrible

But it's not the worst I've ever heard. Certainly beats on some Wings stuff, so nice work.

Okay, so I listened to "Black Smoke Rising", and you get points for originality and inventiveness. I am reminded a bit of Captain Beefheart.

However, I have to say that I am not keen on the style, nor a fan of the recording values. On another post, someone referred to a track as being just 'a bunch of noises'; there was no connection between him and that particular style of music, which is fine, because we're all different. But, echoing that sentiment, this music has no resonance with me, and I'd rather not listen to it.

Having adopted a lo-fi approach (and the track I listened to was very sludgy), it seems a waste of that McCartney equipment you refer to. I found the bottom end to be turbid, and the top to be dull, which may be the effect you are after, but it does nothing for me.

I recall commenting on one of your songs elsewhere, observing that you might be able to carve yourself a niche market for this material, but I think you should not develop too many high hopes about making a 'hit' with it. But best of luck anyway.

Props to you for posting here (instead of in "The Rack")!

I'm listening while I work.

Ahhahhahhhaaa...(okay, recompose yourself, Joseph....:D)

Umm, yeah....what can I say....it's ...ummm...terrible..

I mean you're still young, you've got time to learn and all, you know..
Just learn to keep your feet on the ground....errm....what exactly did you use that Wings used too???? One track of that big Neve mixer and the shittiest mic?

Dunno....somehow it sounds a bit different to "Band on the Run"....

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Lots of creativity in the music.

Just develop your performing and production skills and you're there.

You should post this over at gearslutz. Vintage high end gear is big there. I'm sure they'd love it. You could expand your fan base.

"Christmas Heroin Time" is kinda catchy, especially the "Deck the Halls" part.

yeah i'd say a lot more people will listen if you upload it to a place where we don't actually have to download the file. soundclick works nicely for me

You don't have to download anything if you click on an individual song link, which streams.

i didn't notice that. thanks

of course then there was the gamefly advertisement playing overtop of whatever was supposed to be happening.

OK. If you subtract just one from "everyone" you are left with only "someone".

Please stop saying "everyone" (as you did in the rack forum) because it's not true.

I, for one, think its absolute garbage and hate it, so by the very definition of the phrase you are hereby prohibited from ever saying "everyone". From the looks of this thread you can add at least two more to that tally.

You need a producer to beat you into shape. Some good ideas there, but it sounds really disorganized and timid in a lot of places. Have to agree with the peanut gallery here, needs work.

Hum? being a long time Beatles fan, along with wings and all the Beatles off shoot bands. What gear exactly did you use? I dont care that it was used for mccartney but that it should have been prettty decent gear. The quality of the recordingis to be blunt awful. IF your dad was as you say, did you not learn anything? If it was high end gear that was used it goes to show as has been presented on the forum many times its not so much the gear as the tallent using the gear. And for the songwritting and "singing"? Man, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it is about as bad as I've ever heard.
