Envelope question

Ok, about the only thing I've found that I can't seem to do in Reaper that I can in Sonar is to set track envelopes for effects parameters. I'm playing a pretty stacatto rhythm guitar part on one song I'm working on that, at the very end, ends in a sustained chord, so I decided to insert a pretty aggressive noise gate to really clamp down on the track. This of course would kill the sustain on that final chord, so I was hoping I could simply set an envelope to drop the threshold from where it's set for the performance (-12db or so) down to infinity so the noise gate doesn't close.

Is there any way to do this in Reaper, or am I left with going to an offline audio editor and doing this by hand? Thanks!

fade in the bypass as you need it

i made a mistake when i titled this response, you will be fading it up since it is a bypass.

Hrm. I don't remember seeing the individual FX parameters in that menu when I pulled it up - maybe it varies by plugin or something? Anyway, I'll give it another look tonight.
