I have adobe audition 1.5 and i was wondering does ne one have a preset they use for the parametric equalizer and for compression? I know i have to use my ears to see but it would help if i had basically a starting point lol lol. THanks

we all have starting points....but every instrument, or vocal or what ever you are recording will have its own "starting point" If Im EQing kick, I know where Im going to start....If im EQing snare, Ill have a different starting point....

so what are you recording?

Starting point for my EQ is flat.
Starting point for my comp is 1:1.

Call it a wise guy response if you like.
Seems like the most practical approach, for me at least.

Curious as to why you added a "lol" at the end of your post.

On the left hand side of the display in Multi-track view, there is a choice of "Vol" "EQ" and "FX" at the top of the row of tracks. Select "EQ" and, while the track is playing back, click on the "EQ" field for that track. An easily adjusted parametric EQ window will pop up and you can tweak the track until it sounds the way you want.
