Got my 81s today, but no mics. Are they shipping separately? Anyone else get two different shipments? I just figured it would all come together.

Hey zero--how ya doing? Mine came together but that's because my mics fit in the same box with the pres. If your gear was split between two boxes due to space, I wouldn't sweat it.

Now tomorrow...I'd start sweating it! :D

Just got and payed my shipping invoice. I'm excited.

I got 4 preamps, an acm100, an acm1200, an acm3, an acm900 and an acm200 for anyone that still hasn't gotten their shipment and is wanting to know about what they may be paying in shipping. My shipping was $99.49.

Look carefully through the mound of plastic peanuts before you throw the box away. The mics that shipped without the metallic cases are in very small packages.

My stuff arrived today. Hiss and hum tests tomorrow.

Whoopeee!!!!!

Thanks, but no peanuts in my box. Just boxes in my box.

Hey Strat, life is good. How bout you? How you liking the new gear?

Doing well also. Really loving the gear. Using the 1200's on bunches of things (all just playing around--no serious sessions). Next up gotta get out the mics I'm familiar with and track 'em through the 73's.

Never enough time, y'know? :D

I haven't had much time to play either... had a number of interviews yesterday...

But I did run a 1200 through a 73 pre and didn't cringe at my singing for change. That's gotta be saying something.

I have a few design comments for future runs? (Since we are all testers :) )

Personally, I would prefer the VU meters to be switchable between the preamp levels, and the output levels. The -20 pad for the meter (to me anyway) seems a waste.

Secondly the placement of the EQ band selectors and the corresponding EQ sweep keeps throwing me. I'll get used to it, but it would be nice to have the corresponding sweep closer to the corresponding frequency selector. Even after reading the manual, and knowing the set up, I still instinctively go for the wrong sweep.

For me any way, the power switch on the back is fine, but any thought on moving the impedance selector to the front? I'm not experienced enough I guess to know if that's a set it and forget it option or not, but being racked, they're tough to get to.

I'd buy them either way, so far, I'm really liking what I can get out of them, and they will definitely serve purpose in my little project studio... just wanted to throw those thoughts out there... take 'em or leave them. :) Just thankful I've been able to take part in these group buys as they've really really added to my recording abilities. Thank you Terry 'N Chance.

Question... I haven't been able to play enough with it yet... but what's the "Hi Q" button for on the 84? I haven't found the description in the manual yet. Speaking of which... where's our registration cards? lol (I'm not the only one who actually looked through the manual packet am I?

I'm still a member of the red NO club so I don't actually have one yet :( but I think I can answer your question. Typically the HiQ buttons on Neve style EQs engages a tighter bandwidth.

I have a concern...

... I'm not worry whether my stuff come last, but I'll be away for a week during Christmas and I worry I MIGHT delay the shipping payment and/or not able to pick up the package if it arrives during those time (and got them ship back???).

Chance I know your plan is to get it done before Christmas but based on the progress do you expect the process to extend beyond new year?

your guess is as good as mine. I'm still waiting on so many payments. Last night I invoiced about 15 orders and 3 paid almost immeadiately. Those will be shipping out today. Those who pay from now and over the week end will ship Monday

Someone correct me if I'm wrong....

erniebb, I'm pretty sure that Chance has said in the past that if you don't want your package shipped, because your going to be away... just don't pay your invoice and it won't be sent.

Good Luck,
B.

That is correct.

Great Group Buy News!

TNC announce Custom wound transformers for TNC microphones, at Group Buy Special Prices!

TNC have now aranged to offer transformers custom designed and hand wound for specific models of the TNC microphones. Also in the works are drop-in replacement electronics that will be designed to even better utilise the capabilities of the stock capsules, and also to integrate with certain of the custom transformers.

Transformers are designed and manufactured by AMI/TAB-Funkenwerk in Gaylord, Kansas, by Mr. Oliver Archut.

Electronics are being custom designed by Lucas Engineering technicians. They will be manufactured in the USA or the Bahamas, and will be available soon. We will also have available upgraded "pre-modified" microphones in each style, at some point in the near future.

TRANSFORMERS:

To order as part of the Group Buy, email to

tnc-transformers@compasspointstudios.com

Include name, shipping address, and payment information. Paypal capability is being worked out now, hopefully coming soon. For immediate orders, you can use a credit card.

We will try to answer questions, but be advised that our emails are going crazy, and there is so much to do on this "little" Group Buy that we have to focus first on shipments!
Enjoy!

I shortened this up (it's on page #249 in it's entirety)...

Is there a time frame on these? A deadline... or will they be available at anytime when someone wants one?

Sorry if this has been covered... I was out of the country for a few weeks and was unable to follow the thread... Don't have time at the moment to catch up on the 25 pages, and I don't want to miss a deadline if there is one.

Thanks,
B.

Woo Hoo!!! Green Yes, Green Yes, Red No. . Can't wait to get my gear.

Chance,

I'd like to know how to change the shipping address so I can have the gear shipped to my friend's music store instead of my house since no one will be home when FedEx delivers.

Do I just update the shipping info in the user console?

Thanks.

I asked this over at PSW and Terry said that everything will be available for 'some time'. I don't know if that means months or years or what. I'm really wanting to get my hands on a ACM 1200 and mod it.

Here's a picture of my $16 upgrade/mod to my 73.

Got my green light and paid for my 84. Now patiently waiting delivery.

Speaking of green lights, the real question is who will be first to sub in blue LEDs on the front panel? :)

How is it you have a 73 but are still waiting to receive your 84? I thought everything shipped at the same time.

:D
