dynamic mic for live female vocals

Do you have a recommendation specifically for the girls? A friend on mine is looking for a mic for performance in fairly small venues; she is accompanied by mostly acoustic instruments. range is about second soprano. a nice but not powerful voice. budget is under $150. I like my trusty sm58 and especially my beta 58A but I wonder if they are best for such a female voice.
 
Find a used Audix OM6 - @$120 or so. A female friend of mine auditioned through a pile of mics for live use with her band and ultimately chose this one over a variety of Shures and Sennheisers. The OM5 isn't bad either.

Thanks. But let's assume she won't want a used vocal mic. The OM3 seems to be getting good reviews for around that price. Did your friend like the Audix because of its clarity?
 
a friend of mine just got one of heils pr20's... she's also a massage therapist and bob's a client so he gave her one... anyhow she's a kinda dark alto and not particularly strong voice... it works wonders for her...

Clarity and fullness. It had more "chest" compared to the SM-58.
 
A while back I shot out the usual Audix and Shure stuff against a new sennheiser mic for live vocal use and have to say I actually LOVE the senn 838s. Killer vocal mic. We've actually ended up using it on track in the studio for a female vocal after it won out on the tune against several mics in the 800-1000 dollar range. This is a fantastic new mic for around $150. Really love it and have had it for about a year. Looks cool, too. Silver :-)
