Group Buy Interest?

You guys were starting to get me all exciting... but I guess I'm still one of the last hold outs...

I feel like the ugly girl at the dance.

Hope it happens soon, I have some projects starting in December I could really use these on.
 
Don't fret about it kids.
My shipping still has a red no, but my preamps are sitting right here....all purty.
I checked every couple of days and had all red no's.
Next thing I knew I was told a big heavy package was delivered.
Two 84s, Two 81s (I already have two Chameleon 7602)....and they are solidly built.

BTW, the Chameleons don't fit together in the rack well either.
I have an open rack on wheels and was able to nudge them together on in the bottom slots (in the top part). It's the screws underneath the stick out just a tad.

I just want to give Big Thanks to Chance. I'm amazed he is pulling this off so smoothly.....the relative logistics make my head spin.

Thanks once again Chance......it is truly appreciately......
 
Anyone outside the US received their GB shipment yet? If so, what was the time between payment and arrival?

I just called USPS and they have no record of the tracking number that was emailed to me, or any package under my name. Not sure whats happening, but it was about 5 weeks ago I paid. Chance - has it been shipped from your end?
 
My experience with shipping to Australia was this:

UPS or FedEX will track the package as you'd expect; however, relative to USPS they are both WAY more expensive. EX: I shipped a package there that weighed much less than even one of the TNC preamps. USPS was $60. UPS and FedEX with shipping and insurance was almost 4 times as much!

The issue is this: USPS does not actually track the package once in Australia (at least to my understanding). I took the chance and got lucky. My package went from Philadelphia, PA (east coast of USA) and reached it's destination in Australia in 5 days.

Here's a catch: it's possible that the package, unless stated on it that it is for warranty or repair purposes and the value declared to be UNDER $400, may be caught up in customs, with fees required from you required to be released. If the package was shipped more than a week or two ago via USPS and has not reached you, that would be my best guess. You may have to find it, starting with customs.

BTW, depending on what you purchased, regular FedEx might cost as much as the product. EX: the 4 preamps that cost around $60 to be shipped from California to Pennsylvania (from extreme west coast to extreme east coast) would cost approximately $600 to go from California to Melbourne Australia. Wow! I'm not sure about freight shipping. I'm sure it would costs less but probably take a lot longer.

I think I know whats happening. When I get the information from the packers, I schedual delivery and print the label for the following week to allow time for everyone to pay. If someone pays quickly, it will ship BEFORE the schedualed shipping date. When the package gets scanned at pick up, that over rides my scheduled ship date.

Well, I never got a payment due notice. I check email and the login everyday and on November 13th I got my green yes. Paid right away. Got the fedex notice on the 14th that said it was being shipped on the 13th. Just checked again and the package never shipped till the 17th. Go figure.

The Fed Ex notice is generated from when I print out the label which is BEFORE payment is received. I do this so when the payment IS received, it can ship immeadately. Then, when Fed Ex scans the package they send notifications to me you and the packers. Last week the pack/shippers were off from Saturday till Wednesday, so that would have delayed the pick up/scan from Fed Ex. For some reason when you pay, you get the green "YES" as when your invoice is ready. When your package ships, that has to be entered manually, and with all the invoicing I have to do, I often forget to up date the "YES" under shipped but you SHOULD receive shipping notification from Fed Ex.
 
No problem at all Chance. I did get notice from Fed Ex right away. Originally the delivery date was based on them getting the package on the 13th. As the packeres were off FedEx then changed the delivery date to work woth the new pick up date. Still, a good system in place. This is my third group buy and I'm in for anything else.
BTW if I like the 1200 more than the 6802T I'm going to be selling the 6802 which has a JAN6802 tube in it. PM me if interested or I'll list it in the for sale thread in a week or so.
 
Well, like I said before, I hope I am an anomoly, as I paid on the 14th, got notification that I paid with approval code and order number but still nothing from FedEx anywhere. I have to assume my order has shipped at this point as zebert stated, he had his go out on the 17th.

That's a tough one, Wreckd. I once sent a package to Alaska and it took four weeks from Florida! Apparently they put packages on a barge out of Washington state and take their sweet time working their way up the coast.

Hope your goodies show up soon.

That's good to know. Not being on the receiving end, I don't know what you guys see. So Fed Ex over rides any notices that were originally sent.

Hey Chance, if the packers (and shipping services) get Thanksgiving off and you lose the warehouse at the end of the month, do you have a Plan B?

The warehouse should be emptied by then. The rest will stay at "DK packaging store"

Well, I don't know why I didn't get any tracking info. but I just drove by my place and there were two big boxes gracing my doorstep. I paid on the 14th and the stuff arrived today, on the 20th. There was a weekend in there to boot so, all in all, not too bad. I guess if you don't get any tracking info, just make sure you are checking your place for delivery. Now, I gotta go burn in a 1200. Whooohooooo!!!!!!!

I guess Fed Ex isn't that reliable. I sent mics and pres to NY. for a Nora Jones session. Fed Ex told me "3 maybe 4 days" which would have been fine. The pkg arrived a day after the session. (6 days)
