I will soon be giving away some of my ACM ribbon and tube mics to promote a new website. But first a question of ethics and morals:

If I replace the ribbons in the ACM 3's, can I then still pass them off as new? They have never been used and are still in the original packaging. Need I even mention it?

They're definitely new :) are the existing ones saggin'? can you take them out and hold them up to the light and see if the ribbon is straight or has a bow to it? Which GB did you get them in? I haven't heard anyone mention sagging ribbons in this most recent one

They are from the last group buy, not from this current one. I bought a lot of mics and have only used a select few since then.

I opened those ribbon mics when I first got them and saw that the ribbons were definitely sagging. I notified Chance about it and (hopefully) he is sending me new ones soon. I snugged up the sagging ribbons and they work fine but I would feel better if they had fresh ribbons in them that have never been stretched.

Well if you do replace the ribbons (or even not, according to what you're saying), instead of saying they're new, you can say they're "tensioned by hand in the USA" :D -- that said, I bought a commercial ribbon that was certainly "new" and it was saggy as a sack o' [saggy stuff]

Very interested in what you have to offer.
More info?

I´ve had trouble with logging in the user console for couple of days now...
Hope it will be fixed soon

sorry matti - that may be me bogging down the server by hitting refresh every 2.5 seconds (and let me assure you, I'm able to log in) :D --

but could it be a cookie problem?

I'm contributing to any bog the server may be experiencing. I'm dang excited and check it a few times a day. I'm in the S's so I'm sure I'll be one of the last to get my order though. I still can't help but check constantly.

A lot of orders were invoiced last night, so check your users console.

Yep... same...

I have a feeling I'll be at the end of the shipments again.

I'll get by though. :D

Got my order yesterday--a 1200, and 200 and a 310. All in great shape, with cases, etc. Very nice. Thanks Chance!

Everything is great, nice and solid, and the build quality of the shock mounts seems better than last buy.

I was amused and surprised to see that the large box they came in was filled with big sheets of a dark gray foam Naugahyde-like material--like something that you would use on a dashboard of a car, or some other manufacturing process. Clearly this stuff was scraps from a factory; they were one or 2 square feet in size. It was fine, it did the job--it's soft and cushy, and filled the voids between boxes--I just haven't seen that sort of recycling done before. No doubt I'll figure out something to do with this stuff in the due course of time...

Anyone else have that sort of packing?

I read somewhere in the thread you're invoicing orders with the letter "S" ?

My forename starts with an "A" and my last name with "K". My AdressLine1
however is the company name: "W"izard Software. Is this the reason why I
still have no shipping invoice ? Or are the international orders the last ?

Thanx for any information and *all* your work and effort !

I invoice orders when the shipper has them packed and ready to ship. The bulk of the inventory is in storage so they MIGHT be packing what they have on hand. MANY who have been invoiced, have not paid and their order is taking up valuable real estate in the pack/ship warehouse. Once paid, they ship immeadately. Orders are being picked up every day. (even if it's only 1 or 2)

Chance, I know you weren't trying to imply that it's 1 or 2 *every* day, but it's clear that things are going pretty slowly. At this rate it could take another six months or more to get everything out. I've been quiet up until now because I know how hard you're working. But I'm a little bit resentful that other people are slowing the process down.

What would you think of posting unpaid people's names or email addresses? Not to try to punish them, but to try and contact them! If they've changed their email address or something, there's the potential that you'll end up with dozens of boxes that no one will ever claim.

If you don't want to list the people, I'll volunteer to match up people who say they haven't been invoiced with the list of delayed responders to see if there are any matches.

Thank you for all your efforts thus far and in the future. :)

I didn't receive email notification that my shipping invoice was available. I just have been checking the console daily. An email reminder to those who's shipping invoice is ready but haven't paid yet might help move thing along quite a bit.

...it's clear that things are going pretty slowly...

From my perspective (and I simply read the same things everyone else does) I don't really see this as the case. Things could always go faster, of course, if everyone was on the ball, as we all wish everyone would be. Just like last year, it's a mystery why some people drop off the face of the Earth when it comes time to get their stuff--stuff they've paid for already!! Go figure.

But--compared to last year's GB, which is the only fair comparison we have, this year's is going much smoother and faster. Last year's shipment fit in the back of one box truck, as I recall--this year's came in 2 huge shipping containers. And yet, meaningful progress is being made.

Yes, I've got mine already. But whether or not a person has received theirs shouldn't color the fact that this year's operation is smoother in all ways. It's just that it's huge, and that makes it a bigger mountain to move.

Either way, the waiting has ALWAYS been the hardest part. That remains the same.:(
