there should be a thread at the top of each section of what that section is. for example. there should be a "mastering" thread at the top of this section and it should describe what mastering is, common ways to do it, maybe in some programs how to do it. maybe links to songs before and after mastered.

just an idea.. i think it would help a lot of people out. i know it would help me out, i wouldnt post random things that you guys have answer probably 100 times each haha.

Not a bad idea but not really do-able. At least with the mastering.

Mastering one of my tunes might involve a completely different set of tweaks and gear than yours.
Metal is not mastered the same way as...say...a jazz trio would be.

Depending on the tracking and the mixing...the ME may need to attempt to polish a turd or it may just come down to a polishing a gem.

A lot of the mastering houses I've checked out DO have before and after samples up on their site. Just google around and you'll see.

As to the others....just spend countless hours trudging thru the info here and other places and it'll all come together for ya. :D

Peace.........

Not a new idea. Depending on how many people are involved, it can go by several different old names:

One person - a book.
Two people - tutoring.
Three or more people - a class.

:D

I think the key word here is "common" -- The only thing that's common is the actual creation of the replication master. Everything else is just doing what the mix tells you to do.
