Anybody had tried one of these before? Does it really eliminate the vocals? I've been asked to do a few cover song but don't have enough time so I was thinking about getting one of these? Is it worth it? Anyone with an example?

Thanks:)

I am not 100% sure but I think with most units that "remove" vocals you lose pretty much everything else that is up the center as well. Sorry I can't be much more help but it is something to think about.

I appreciate the comment. Anyone else???:D

I've read somewhere online that you can remove vocals yourself manually with a audio editing program. Can someone show me how to do it? Is there a different hardware or software that does this? I just want to hear the difference.

Thanks.

Thanks for the link Ethan. I never really had a chance to read it due to my busy schedule. Anyways, great info. However, I'm more of a hands-on person than reading and following directions.

I'm only at work reading the article. I'll give it a good listen once I get home; can't wait.:D

I have a few questions:
-I only have Pro Tools, can I use that to remove vocals? If possible, how would I go about doing it?
-How do you reverse polarity?

Thx

I've tried the Alesis Zapper for my Sister's church choir. Sent it back..... She bought the Thompson Vocal Eliminator ( $1800 ) and even tho it does eliminate somewhat, I got better results using the built in eliminator on the church's Behringer mixer! ( $250.00).......BTW..anyone wanna buy a Thompson Vocal Eliminator?...:D
