And on anotha note...
I got rejected from a major A&R cuz he thought my music was generic!!! What the hell is up with that.

Your music doesn't sound generic... you've got skills..please don't let that ride down your passion for music. I think with the way things are now... big labels are trying to latch on to teenie boppers that they can exploit to get some cash. It's funny how the internet freed us from the monopoly. There was a time that you could follow a business model, but it's a free for all. You have to get your name out there and be seen locally as much as you can. Hustle the dj's to play your shit... sell cd's out the trunk of your car. 1 ar rep doesn't make you or break you... you really have to want it to make it now a days.

Man I really like your flow..better than a lot of stuff I have herd on here...I think what the A&R was talking about was all the damn sampling...every song I herd on your myspace was someone else's music!! That shit has been done to death..I think they are starting to look for songs that are original with original music..Anyone can jack someone else's shit....Try to work on your own music..It is worth it cuz you got a great style...don't give up!!! Just continue learning!!

PS..If you plan on selling cd's out the trunk...better work on getting those samples passed first!
 
Yeah that might be what he meant. But I'm not trying to make money off of this, this is just because I LOVVE rap.

Also I live in a non hiphop area...there are no producers around here.

Ill... thats a crappy cop out man... for real.. don't let no producers in your are stop you from being heard on your own stuff.. you are part of a forum that people would gladly help you be original and push for you to be notice.. the internet is a strong tool..

Aight aight...well if yall producers on HR wanna make some beatz similar to the above go ahead. For my senior project in high school I'm makin like a mix CD or whatever and I can put whoever wants to contribute in the cover or something

and besides . . . them beats r hot . . . sample or not!! there are plenty of acts that "make it" with samplin . . . we all need teh "right" a n r . . . if u meet an anr that is lookin for soulja boy . . .. n u r on some lox type n.y. tish . . . they not gon feel u . . . and vice versa . . . im diggin them joints . . .
