Whats up with Gearsluts (site is down)

Anyone know whats going on with GS.?.its been down for almost two weeks

It is working for me right now. They might be doing some updating because it says there are no photos or mp3's in the post for the time being.

I use Mozilla. That could be it. Check you browser settings and see if anything jumps out at you.

I just tried explorer..www.gearslutz.com...still wont work..hummmm

Who's your access provider? And do you need to run special access software to use them?

First thing I'd so is contact your provider to make sure they you are not having a problem getting to one or more of their DNS servers (their copy of what is basically the Internet yellow pages directory) and that their DNS servers are operating properly.

thanks..will do! I use charter cable!..I had no problem getting on GS until they shut down for a while last week and I haven't been able to get back on since!

This is a real longshot, but it's possible that if GS changed DNS addresses on their server - which would have happened if they changed servers or server providers when they went down - that the new addresses never propagated properly to your provider's DNS registry.

First thing I'd do is pray that your service provider's tech support is not limited solely to an outsource company in Mumbai .

Then explain to your provider that your Internet service seems to be working just fine except for one or two sites that you cannot connect to (give them the EXACT error message you are getting) even though you know a bunch of people who can get to it just fine, and see what they can do for you.

FLASH: Something I just thought of, maybe. Another long shot. Does your internet provider have some kind of parental/porn blocking option that maybe might be reading the "slut" part of the domain name and thinking it's a porn site to be blocked? Though if that were the case, I'd think you'd get a special message saying that it's blocked on purpose.

Ok man..I got a hold of charter and they gave me a new dns number...still did not work!! I'm out of options..maby Ill get some music done this way...lol!!!!
