Hey, starting at this from scratch. Brand New. I'm putting together a "home studio" I guess you could say. After looking around the net at condenser mics, I have come to the decision that I should get a Behringer B1 or C1. I know that B1 is better, but I want to know more about C1. I want to spend as little as possible, so I want to know how the C1 compares to the B1. If the B1 is quite a bit better than C1, I'll definitely get it... but if there isn't a huge difference, I'll get the C1.

B1 is 99.99 on musiciansfriend.com, and C1 ranges form 40 - 60$ on eBay. B1 is over 100 on eBay.

Let me know more about the quality of C1. Would like to hear from as many of you as possible. THANKS! :)

I'd go the B1 route if I were you. To top that even, I'd go the B2 route even more. I've had one for about 5 years (im guessing) and it still stands up fine and sounds decent for what I paid for it. Considering you'd have it for a number of years, I'd say it's worth the extra money and polar patterns which Im sure you'd find usefull at some point. The C1, as far as I know, along with the B1 has is cardoid only (not that it's the world's biggest deal) and both are made a little better than the C1. The B2 also has a low end cut filter which can also come in handy. Good luck.

Why? :D

There are a lot of good mics in that price range that are better. I think the Behringer B1 is basically the same as the Apex 435. It's kind of brittle sounding. You could do a lot of work to make it sound good, but why not get something better to begin with?

Depending on what you're recording, I think we can list at least a dozen mics for $100 or less that would be better. Let us know what you are trying to record (voice, instruments, etc.) and give us some idea what your voice sounds like (assuming that you're doing voice) and we'll throw out some ideas.

I think the original poster can close a thread. Don't ask me how. I haven't started a thread in a long time. Probably a good idea to close this dup. :)

I would rather say you should go for the Studio Projects B1. Just because i don't like Behringer. It is a good mic for its price though.

I have a b2 pro for abot 5 years..still works and sounds ok with a good preamp!! It is worth the money I guess

I think it might be too late. The noobs will probably keep it floating at the surface for a while.:D
