I just got notice that SOME of the mics (135 cartons worth) are finished and ready to ship. Some mics need to be individually inspected (ribbon sag) They said that because this is "a first production run" on the mic-pres, they need to test every piece. I might just go ahead and have them ship what is ready now. I say "might" because it would involve extra steps and trips to the port of LA customs. I will call Randy later and see if he has the shipping data on how many and who ordered mics only that are now ready to ship.
Stay tuned

Testing every preamp is actually very very good news. One of my secret fears was that there would be no testing and 10% or so of these things would not work as often happens in electronics.

My vote is to do whatever is most efficient for you, Randy, and anyone else directly involved regarding shipping mics separately.

I second the vote for doing whatever is most efficient for Chance - even if it means slowing the progress, theoretically.

I hope Chance does another group buy....I was not aware of it until it was too late.....I bought an ACM-310 off a guy recently and it is a great SDC tube mic. Works really good for fiddle, guitar, mandolin, etc. I would love to get another one as well as the tube ribbon, LDC etc. I get the impression that this last group buy was a real PIA for him. I sure hope he is inclined to do another one !!

Nothing new to report. just checking in. Everything is on schedule. I will be contacting Randy this week to get the shipping system in place.

Chance--are they going to ship any of the mics that are ready to go? I ask because I'm one of those people who only ordered mics...:)

It's quite possible. When I get with Randy, I will check to see "who got what"

As we are now in the home stretch, they are preparing the owners manual. When I first posted specs on the "73", someone found some errors. I believe they posted a ,5 when it should have been .05. The intro to the manual is amusing the way they worded it. If anyone can spot any other errors, PM me so I can approve it.
Bummer, It's a "microsoft word document" and I cant upload this file type. Any Ideas?

Here is the first page (copy/pasted) LOL

Introduction
These series modules are a sutra design and contain all of the original components. Please close your eyes, taste of sweetness sense of music by these. Let each note be injected into our soul.
The modules have three input: Mic, Line and DI (only ACMP73). Microphone preamplifier has a transformer balanced input with a range between 20dB and 80 dB of gain. The separate line input is a transformer balanced and accepts input levels from +20 to -10dB. DI is high impedance and adapts to electronic instrument direct input. The modules have different equalizer section.
Technical Specification
