hey guys.

im programming some drums for a track that were demoing because my mixer isnt working right now :/

ive sorted out some amazing samples (a guy called andy sneep had raw hits of kick drums and snares from bands like machinehead, slayer, suffokation and bury your dead), however, ive programmed drums before and the cymbals never sound right.

got any tricks/tips and or samples i could have of cymbals for a hardcore band?

im not actually using anything like ezdrummer, just programming through wavs on cubase in time with the click which has gone very well for me, but its time for cymbals.

cheers.

Upload some samples to hear what you got.

Besides that, you must randomize the velocities in order to get a natural sound (some hits harder than other, releases and some chokes too like real drummers do!).

Cymbal samples need to be long. otherwise they'll sound mechanic and robotic. That's the reason it's hard to find good samples... disk space. BFD has some nice and long cymbal samples.

We'll wait for your samples. Luck!

Check your tempo

Make sure you are exporting your " CYMBAL " at the same tempo as your song.

If your song is at 130 and your Cymbal was progrmmed/exported at 160 then you will have a very slow washy sounding cymbal.

This should help some

No...it shouldn't.

How the hell would that happen????:confused::confused::confused:

If that was the case, it wouldn't sound "washy", it would simply be totally out of time and hitting totally at the wrong spots.
