i'm tryin to find some good mastering and cd production software and i was wondering if neone had some suggestions...thanx

WaveLab and CD Architect would make a nice combo.

I am not sure how much WaveLab costs, I think it is around the $500 mark though.

well i'm on about $100-$250 and i don't need like state of the art gear...just somethin to get the job done

You can get Reaper for $40 and CD Architect for $99. $149 will put you below the halfway point of your budget range and still have state-of-the art capabilities.

To get the job done.... Wavelab Essential. It does most everything the full blown Wavelab does and you won't need anything else. $100

Oh, except maybe you'll need the acoustically treated room, precision monitoring chain and experienced ears.... Kind of a smart-ass comment, I know. But I'm at the point now where I'm trying to master my cd myself and it's not coming out very good. I'm about ready to bite the bullet and just spend the money to have a professional do it.

Peace,

Where does one buy years of experience for under $250?

Just kidding, but the point being there's getting the job "done" and getting the job "done right". You have to consider that a CD release is kinda like a tattoo. Once it's out there it can't easily be removed and is a representation of your image. Unless it's in a private part of your body and only visible to a select few, it might be a good idea to have someone who's had a few ink jobs under their belt work on it.
