Hi all,

I am new to here and fairly new to recording. I recently purchased the BR-1200CD and have pretty much figured out all the basics that I need to get started with my recording.

The one thing I can't figure out is how to record the drum pattern while also listening to my guitar track that I have layed down. It is not too much of an issue with the main drum beats but for other parts to include tom rolls and symbol crashes it is difficult to do without listening to the guitar track at the same time.

I am thinking there has to be a way to do this but I just can't figure it out.

If anyone can help me I will owe them one big time.

Thanks,

Tony

I used to have a Boss BR-8, which I think was the original version of what you have. You can definitely listen to other tracks while recording a new one, and I remember this being pretty obvious, you just use the faders on each track.

Maybe you can post more specifics on what you are doing. When you mention drum sounds, are you using the sounds that come with the Boss (they are basically click tracks)? Or have you recorded a drum part to one of the tracks?

Seems like there should be a simple answer here, but it has been quite a few years since I used that BR-8, so I don't remember any tricks or strange things that I ran across.

Thanks for the response. It is very simple what I am trying to do so I am sure it can be done...at least I hope so.

I have a single guitar track recorded....I want to create my own drum patterns on the recorder to go with my guitar track. The problem is I can't find a way to create the drum patterns while listening to my track. I can create the drum pattern on its own....but I need to record while listening to the track.

Hate to break it to you, but if he hasn't gotten an answer by now, he probably either got another hobby or moved on to a different multitracker. He posted this question over 3 years ago, and his last time on the board was 07-30-2006.

If you are having a problem, instead of trying to get the answer from someone long gone, why not just start your own thread and get answers?
