i love negative rep
so i ripped out the carpet in my small, heavily treated, recording room.
they were nasty.... 20 years of heavy use and pets. glad to have them gone.

but...

i replaced them with linoleum (no cash for wood), and now there's a slap echo between the ceiling and floor, i tamed it with some throws, but it's no where near as dead as it used to be.
people used to be able to get like 3 feet away (singing), with no room sound, now i hear at least a little at nearly any distance, even with throw rugs down.
any advice?

i knew id change, but not this much.:(

Treat your ceiling.

Want to borrow that "monster cloud" of mine and try it? If it works we can build you one.

you really do need to treat your ceiling.

Reflective floor with an absorbing ceiling is a good design
