Hi, I was wondering if any of you still use a Fostex D108 multitrack recorder.
If so, do you know which IDE drives are compatible with the machine?
So far I've had older drives of 4GB or around. A friend gave me a 160GB drive which the machine doesn't recognize. When I put it in, the machine freezes with the display stuck on "No Drive" message.
Is it because the IDE drive capacity is way too much? Now you can only find internal IDE drives from 80GB and above.
Does anyone know an address/website where to find such low capacity drives? I'm based in Paris, France. Thanks.

From memory, I think the older D series will only recognise up to approx., 30Gig, if you have a larger drive, the remaining space is wasted. If you haven't got the manual and supplement, you can d/load them here......: http://www.fostexusa.com/index.php?file=support/documents ..........also, it may be an idea to contact your nearest Fostex distributor and ask their advice.
