As the payment process is under way, I have been flooded with E-mails and PM's. There is no possible way I can answer all of them. I suggest that anyone with questions, to post them here on the boards, because many of the questions that are asked can be answered by the many who have been involved in the three past group buys. I am going to copy/paste this message in the four forums this topic is running in.

10-4, Thanks Jim!

I should know. I usually wear out a debit card in about 18 months. Pathetically, I don't even have to pull the card out of my wallet to use it. I have it memorized. Even the 3-digit security number. I think I'm probably spending too much and too often. :(
Someone help me! Please!!! But not until after the Group Buy, okay? :D

The first step is not to memorize anything, it´s just too dangerous.

I didn't set out to memorize it; it just happened from so much use. Now it's become reflexive ...it's as easy as scratching my boys in the morning. :D

I know, i know. When somebody asks for my phone number i usually give them a 12 digit code...:D

any idea when virtual checks will open up?

They are open now... I tried to get a few beta testers yesterday, as I've never ran a live check through it, and wanted to test it with live transactions before I opened it up, but I didn't get any takers... So this morning, I opened them up... If there are errors, I'll deal with them individually.

Thanks!

Randy

Group Buy Payment Security

There has been some talk over on another forum about the Group Buy Payment Page not being SSL (https). I bought this certificate, so I KNOW that it is valid and properly issued... I made a post there, and I'll also make one here... Just trying to keep down confusion and rumors...

I believe that some people don't know where to find the "Lock Icon" on their browsers to view the certificate information. SO, I've made screen shots from 3 browsers: IE7, Firefox & Safari to illustrate where to find that lock icon, as well as the dialog that comes up when you click on it.

Here is where to find the lock icon on these 3 browsers:
IESSL_SS1.gif

FireFoxSSL_SS1.gif

SafariSSL_SS1.gif

This is the dialog that will open when you click on that lock icon:

Yes, the page IS secure.

Thanks,

Randy

Randy-

That lock icon appears on the login page, but not the payment page.

I think now that we may be talking about 2 different things... There is an IMAGE,
ssllock.jpg
, on the login page that has text that says "this page is secure"... Anyone can put those on their pages... The thing that really matters is if the browser recognizes and accepts the SSL certificate...and it does on all pages...

Here are screen shots of the payment pages in different browsers. Notice the "REAL LOCK ICON" on the browser itself on each example.... THIS IS THE ONE THAT MATTERS... Anyone can put images or text on their pages saying that it is secure, but unless your browser recognizes the SSL certificate that is installed on the server, encrypting the traffic, it's really not secure:

PayPageSS2.gif

PayPageSS3.gif

If I'd known that everyone was just concerned about the "secure image" being on the pages, I just pasted those on the pages and never bought the SSL! sure would have been cheaper!... Nah, I wouldn't have, just kiddin'...:D

Thanks,

Randy

Yes. That's how I paid! I just checked my statement online and it went through!

Just wanna throw something out here:

Please, please, after you pay, log back into the User Console and make sure that your invoice is marked as paid... There has been 1 case that for some reason unknown, that the person paid, but it never got marked as such in the User Console and I've not been able to find out who it was... This person used a different email address during checkout than was registered in the Group Buy...

Just be sure and check the User Console and confirm that your invoice got marked as paid.. If it didn't, let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Randy

I hear you Randy, and that lock icon is indeed there now... but I'm tellin' 'ya, I know what it looks like, and it was definitely not there a couple of hours ago.:D

At any rate, it's there now.

Craig

Kind of OT, but what happened to the "6802 mod" topic? I think there was a link that I am trying to find about, I believe, the M-16 vs other mics. I thought I saved that link, but can't find it
