I also have a D690

Hi,

My D690 is hyper cardiod. The D770 is cardiod. I used the D690 on banjo for a live bluegrass band. I put the D770 on the upright bass. Both worked good and sounded good on the recordings.

Mostly I use the D770 for live vocals. I hope to use both of these home studio recording in the near future.

Yes, I did hear some nice mics at the show and as soon as I finish this one design project I have, I'll be testing some of the new inexpensive ribbon mics I've heard.
 
Damn Harvey is still kicking it at HR.com! Lots to learn from ole Harvey. I'm a little burned out on it myself, lately.

Still waiting on the Fathead II from Cascade. Alex is on vacation, so I can't test the units Chance sent me or all the Nadys I've got waiting to be reviewed.

I've been back and forth between the Chance's ACM-6802 and the ACM-1200.

I'm not alone, everyone wants another ear to give input. I'm sure all the mics will be good, but if we can only purchase 2 or 3, it would be nice to have a good idea of what they resemble.

Also, I'm waiting for some more info on the difference in the ribbons. So any input you have about his units would be great.

I'm not concerned about how they stack up against other models, just some good idea of how each sounds on it's own. It would be nice to know if the ACM-6802 would be equal to the T3 because you mentioned a while back that the T3 would be a good choice for me.

Also, the ribbons are so different and not all the specs are up yet. I'd like something similar to the RCA 77. Any input?
