Here I go again, I've redone the vocals and the middle guitar solo and hopefully have the drum level dropped to make a better mix. Vocals were recorded through a Naiant tube mic-MSH-4 and the solo was recorded through a Delta Blues amp into a EV DS-35 that sounded pretty good for the old mic that it is.

Brought down the snare level and bumped up the kick and added a little reverb to the drums-my ears are kind of toasted from the tracking-please let me know what I'm not hearing today!;)

Nice mix, the drums are tamed now and everything seems to be gelling. I could use more lead vocals. Rather, I could use them articulated more, and I am not sure how to do that. Maybe less reverb? I cant hear every word, but I can hear most.

Thanks again for the comments and advice David. I think the vocal problem is poor pronounciation by the vocalist:o-I may give the singing another try tomorrow.
It seems to me that after I uploaded the song to Soundclick, that the drums especially have much more delay than I was hearing on the mix I heard on my computer. Has anyone else noticed this on a Soundclick upload mix??

I like the guitar/keyboard sound on this, to me the snare seems a bit dominant and the reverb on it makes it sit in a different place as opposed to the rest of the instrumentation, lead vocal might be able to come up a bit...cool lyrics......like the guitar solo. Song has a diffrent kinda vibe to it...I like it!

Thanks for listening, the guitars are a Tele and a Firebird copy and organ sound is a church organ patch on a Roland XP-60. Solo is a Epiphone Les Paul Standard-totally stock-so far. There is a lot of experimentation in the formation of the song and I'm sure there is more to come.;)

Tony.....I don't know who the song is to/about....but good luck staying outta hell with them....

I like the lead at 2:47...sounds like your melody thought is taking on a change of direction..

The lyrics seem to be a bit crammed in there..perhaps some different timing of them or removing some of the words that are not necessarily pertinant to the vocal expression of the song...just a suggestion. I myself have problems with doing that..so take it for what it's worth..;)

Got a good one going on here Tony!!!

I don't feel really good today, so sorry if I seem a bit blah or not more specific in my response..I don't mean to be Tony.:)

hmmmmmmmmmm...Ok:eek:

Or maybe it jumped the track and found a better destination...;)

The lyrics are still needing a bit of editing, they are-like the rest of the song-in a formative stage

Thanx-I needed a vote of confidence. Lots of new gear (guitar & amp) and programs (EZDrummer) are involved in the recording, trying to do the best with my limited grasp of some of it..!

Its this crappy weather for one thing. it just keeps freezing and thawing, either ice or muddy slush! Hope you start feeling better and you're spirit is back to normal
