Thinking about sending this off to Ebay but I thought I'd check here and see if anyone wanted this before I did that.
This is a Philips Series 1 TiVo with Lifetime service. Last time I checked it's transferrable to the new owner with a phone call (I'd have to double check that now, but I'm pretty sure that will always be the case with pre-existing lifetime service units).
I've upgraded the drives to a pair of 120gb and installed a Cachecard (NIC with 512 onboard RAM) so you can connect this directly to your network. I've also done all the mods to it to allow for networking, FTP, caller ID, programming via web browser and all that cool stuff.
Only selling because we went to DirecTV and I don't plan on going back to cable ever again. It's been sitting here getting no use and I'd like to get it to a good home.
Units with just lifetime service (no network or added functionality hacks) go for around $175-200 plus shipping on Ebay - the Cachecard and memory were (and still are) another $150 or so from 9thTee so I guess I'm looking to get somewhere around $250-275 and shipping out of it? I'm open to any offers though.
Anyone interested? If so, PM me. I've put dozens of hours into modding this box and it's excellent. Unfortunately with DirecTV it's not much more than a glorified tapeless VCR. If you've got cable it's the bomb though...
Any interest or questions, PM me. Thanks!
