Hey fellas--

So, tonight, at band practice, I suddenly started hearing incredible weird interference, and then noticed once I calmed everyone down that a local talk station was coming through my amp. Anyone ever dealt with this before? I assume it's a pedal on my board--I cast a suspicious eye at my electro harmonix big muff russian, though probably only because it's russian--but I'm not sure.

Before I start dismantling everything looking for a problem I might not find again, I humbly ask y'all--what the hell is going on? Any experiences like this?

:confused::confused::confused:

I have this issue with my Vox wah occasionally. Picks up the local Spanish station. I call it my Mariachi-izer because sometimes it plays very loud mariachi music when I press it.

I'd try to find the culprit using the process of elimination. Disconnect each effect and try it out until the interference goes away. Then again, I don't know if it could be a combination of effects that does this. My wah tends to act up when I use something that boosts gain, like the "Fat" button on my old blues Jr or my tube screamer.

Distortion boxes, especially ones with a boost are notorious for picking up radio. Sometimes unshielded cables will too, if you are really close to the broadcast tower. Sometimes the dirrection you are facing will alter the reception. The interference wont hurt anything but it can sure be annoying.

I have the exact same problem with my wah. Everytime i turn it on i get the local italian station. I tried everything to fix it but nothing's worked. I just live with it now.

here's my chain

Thought I should post the chain...

Boss TU2-->Whirlwind A/B/Y Switch

Chain A)
Fulltone OCD

Chain B)
Electro Harmonix Big Muff Russian
Ibanez DE7 Delay
Boss Trem
MXR Micro Amp

Everything is running on a FMR Audio pedal board.

I'm thinking it would be best to change the main cables today. I've been meaning t blow money on monster cables for a while. But if any of these look suspicious, let me know. I'm PRAYING it's not my OCD.

Cause that thing rules.

I have had problems in the past with using the same power supply for all my pedals. I had one that had to be powered own it's on. I would take out one thing at a time out of your signal chain. If you dont' find it, try removing two at a time.
