Are you getting something guitar-related for Christmas?

It doesn't quite have the bass response of my gibson acoustic but I really like what it does. I used it in this song just to try it out if you want to hear the guitar. For one of the guitar tracks I used the light half of a pack of strings for a twelve string on it and left if slightly detuned. It's not much of a recording but that's the guitar I used.

Glad to see someone else who likes to build Archtops. Tell him if he wants to investigate the balance and bass end he might want to look into the recurve on the top and back plates, it's that that makes an archtop sing. Also tell him it's a nice looking instrument and keep em coming..nice job.

Edit: Tell you what as he's been so good to you. Find out if he's got this book and this DVD. Do the right thing this Christmas. He deserves it after a gift like that. If it's down to one get him the book it's all in there. If he has them let me know. There's tons of other stuff a guitar maker needs..

Thanks Muttley, thats a good idea. He does own that book but its falling apart. I think I'll replace it for him. He and I have built a handful of guitars, amps and pedals. We're gathering wood now for our next projects.

If he/you have the book then get him a subscription to this GAL. You'll love it.

Tubes, finally.

Fender Hot Rod Deville.

(and, I also gave myself a christmas present... an M-Audio DMP3.)

Sure, if you like an amp with no volume. Pfft.

(Obviously, I'm being sarcastic. I'm convinced the sound waves from my old tweed Deville contribute to global warming or that hole in the ozone layer. ;))

Congratulations on your new amp, it's LOUD and those Deville's sound freaking amazing, especially the clean channel.

I *hope* I'm getting music stuff for Christmas. :D

What I got was somewhat guitar related in a roundabout way. 512 megs of ram, a 360 gig HDD, and a KVM switch (So I can run my server and latest "frankenputer" using the same moniter and keyboard/mouse). The new box is running Kubuntu Gutsy and I'm in the process of setting up my home studio and working out all the kinks.

First, Got an Ibanez 7420 body....And the fast-track to do my first project guitar. I'm tired of always buying them finished......I want to put together my own....my own way.
