Anyone want a website or website makeover for free?

pandamonk I'm real tired and started on a very scratch/rough design. I have no idea what you want it to look like. Feel free to tell me if you want anything changed or just start over. Without info I'm pretty lost on what to make it look like.

So, if you think it sucks, it's not because I suck it's because I don't know how to make it look. :D

You can download the bitmap file here. It's just a rough/incomplete design. There's 2 of them, the 2nd one just with a different background color.

Edit: Since it's not in HTML form yet, it's off to the left and the gackground gradient behind everything will eventually fill the whole page and there won't be any white behind it.

Thanks a lot danny. I really didn't know what i wanted it to look like, so left it upto you. Those look really good though. I think i like the first best. Thanks for doing that. :D

Cool. I don't want you to be disappointed. I can make it look different if you want, it's not a problem at all.

In fact, you can google search for "website templates", look through and find one you like, and if you do, I can either use it and modify it (if it's free) or remake one just like it.

Before converting this to HTML I'm gonna finish up fairacres for Julian, and that will give you the time to look through some templates if you want.

I'm also trying to work on both at the same time.

And the logo, I uploaded a huge logo, way bigger than the default banner size, I have to make it smaller and re-upload it.

I'm not at all disappointed. It looks good! I'm happy with it. :D

Don't put yourself under any pressure to finish mine soon. I'm happy to wait. I might look through some templates, but i don't see much point, 'cause i like what you've done(although, like my mum said, it looks like a van rental website :p). It'll be good once it has studio pics etc.

And yeah, I realized the ShoutBox errors a few days ago, still have to get around to fixing that. Thanks for letting me know. :)

Will be posting back soon. It's taking a little longer than I thought. This week is a busy week for me at work.
 
Will finally have Pandamok's and Julian's done tonight and ready by tomorrow. I have had almost 0 time to work on them.

Then I can possibly start on more after this weekend. This weekend will be the busiest of all for me at work.

Cool what you're doing! Just a thought though - you mentioned you didn't know what a site looked like in IE. Not sure if you're on a Mac or PC, but it's a good idea to test sites in IE as well as Firefox. I sometimes find that things don't always look the same between to two (and most of the time it's and IE "quirk").

Hey warble. I usually (when I'm not lazy) check my work in FireFox, IE6 and IE7. You're right though. I usually have to use CSS hacks or other workarounds since IE displays a lot of things differently (which is very tedious).

The sites I'm making now are being checked on all 3 so no worries. ;)

I'm doing this mainly for practice because I want to start doing more freelance web designing. So I'm willing to do it for free. If you don't like it, don't keep it, it won't hurt my feelings. :)

I don't know Flash. If you have flash content I can add it on there but I haven't learned flash yet.

I'm good with HTML, CSS, and pretty good with Photoshop. I also know PHP/MySQL.

I work 50+ hrs a week on average but have time during the day/night to work on it. If anyone wants, post here or PM me. I'm only going to do 2-3 at a time.

The more details you give me, the better job I can do and the closer I can get it to how you want it. My psychic abilities aren't very good.

Well it would a website for a movement i started the 909 movement which has artists of all genres i would like a dark theme i can probably give you pictures to put on the site if needed... a home page, bio page, upcoming releases,media, downloads,and contact...just a create layout would be cool though

Pandamonk - Yours is ready. I wish I could have had more time to spend on it and I hope you like it. I had no idea what to make it look like. All you gave me as a reference was a flash file with a red background. :D I am sending you a PM with the details, etc.

Julian - Yours needs the least amount of work so I'm going to do that this afternoon and it will be ready today. :)

I may take a small break after this because I have been so swamped with work. But I will go down in order from first poster to last when I start back on the websites.

Thanks Danny, looks good. Only thing I'd like you to change is the heading. The company is Bombshed Music, and records is just a subsidiary. It doesn't matter that the other pages are bare. I don't really know what to put there either. I'll have a look for a few things...
