okay so here's what I want to do

I want to have a setup that allows me to loop guitar parts and have delay with tap tempo..

I had the line 6 dl4 and loved it but i was wondering what other options are out there.. I've read great reviews from the akai headrush.. i like the reverse and 1/2 speed option though..

the headrush is alot cheaper... ideally i'd like to have one pedal set up for delay and another one or two looping pedals..

any other options out there for loopers?

Actually, you're right. That's why I sold mine, now that I'm remembering. However the sound on this thing is clean...and completely crazy!

Kinda hard to find except on Evil Bay.

The sound-on-sound quality of the old boss rc 20 isn't great. Google boomerang, it's meant to be good.

The Boomerang's biggest issue is actually its sound quality- it degrades as the loops add up. The newer version coming out was supposed to address this, but I haven't heard it yet or read the specs, etc.

If you're in the low-dollar range for a looper, there's the Boss RC-2. A little more will get you the Digitech Jamman- very similar to the Boss RC-20XL but with some added features. The next step up would be the Boss RC-50. After that (getting more expensive now) would be a used Gibson/Oberheim Echoplex. At the top of the range is the Looperlative. I'd avoid the Electrix- it has nice features, but the companies customer service is abysmal and they've been known to leave their customers in the dark for months to years at a time.
