Gotta keep it honest

I wasnt feelin it, it wasnt the hottest beat on the web like you was saying at the beginning of the beat...but what do i know laffy taffy was a hit.

I thought it was just okay!
I can't call it garbage, just needs a little pampering up. Try a simpler beat without too much clutter and post it. What I mean is: Make a nice drum track and just put a bass line and some strings over it. (I think that is the meat of a beat.) Let people critique it and give you pointers. Then you can add other sounds effects and riffs that can compliment your foundation as you go along.
It is important to keep it in song format, to hear each distinguished section (intro-16-8-etc......) I think it will help you in the long run when you start making customs...
All of this, of course, is just my opinion. I am not an ill beatmaker, but there are plenty in this forum. But I can "Critique" the Hell out of a beat. (I've been on many forums in Boston, I know a sick beat when I hear one (LOL):D:D:D

none of the melodies go together whatsoever, theyre all off pitch, the drums sound like garbage... etc

rule #1....never rush a beat and expect it to be hot.

As for my critique...not feeling this at all. I can tell you rushed it because like others have said...there are too many clashing melodies. When you make a beat are you thinking of it expecting to have vocals on it? If your answer is yes then you don't want to put too much in the beat so that the guy will have something to rap over. Tone that shit down homie.

Fie.
