Damn, I was just getting used to Sonar 6 on my friend's computer.... I was thinking of getting Sonar 6 later this year or next year.....Hopefully if I get V7 it will be fully backwards compatible so we can trade tracks....

Pasts versions have been backwards compatible, but not forward compatible.

In other words, V7 will in all likelihood be able to read V6 files, but V6 will probably be unable to read files from V7.

Double Damn......:mad::mad::mad::mad:

I barely have 6 figured out.:oPersonally there's really no feature I really want at this point and I'm loaded on plugs and synths right now so 7 is going to have to knock my socks off for me to buy it.I've heard nothing at all about it's new features.:confused:

All I want from a new version of Sonar is for it to be able to run on something other than Windows. Linux, Mac, Solaris... I don't care what. That is the only thing that could tempt me to upgrade at this point.

I've heard it will have improved midi editing capabilities.

And less than 3 weeks after I received my copy of Sonar 6. :( :( :(

Actually, I was pretty much expecting this when I ordered 6. :rolleyes:

According to Cakewalk:

If you upgraded in September 2007 you will automatically get a free upgrade to SONAR 7.

If you upgraded in August 2007 you will be getting an email tomorrow with a special limited time offer with a reduced price on your upgrade.

The cakewalk forum is literally beside itself. It's like a dog in a room full of Kongs.

The Studio version doesn't come with all the plugins - V-vocal, VC-64, etc.
