Alt + F4 = super secret function they don't want everybody to know about...but It only works after you work on a project for 2hrs w/o saving. Just try it!

.......not to be a nay-sayer or anything, but all the people who own a legitimate copy of Cubase get a wonderful book that not only explains all shortcuts, but explains pretty much everything else as well.....just my .02

Blick-um, blick-um...
Shift+G is a pretty cool little macro. Places locators around the selected file, loops it and begins playback all in one little click.

What book would that be? Seemed to be missing from my legit copy of SX3 when I bought it... All I got were some waste-of-time PDFs on the DVD-ROM...No good for train journeys,

All of these shortcuts are only valid if you are using the stock set of keyboard shortcuts. The first thing I do is change all of mine so they make more logical sense to me. For me, M=mute Ctrl-A = add multiple tracks S=solo G=gain Ctrl-G = add group track Ctrl F = Add FX track just to list a few of the common ones.

Are you serious? My copy *of Cubase 4* came with 2 books one of which is 617 pages long, the other is about 300 pages. It pretty much explains EVERYTHING...

yes, I am serious. You never got a proper manual with SX3. They rectified that for 4 because so many of us complained!

Yeah I never got a manual for my SX3 either. Just a huge box with a couple of disks rattling round in it and a dongle. I get on pretty well with our printing guy at work though. So I got my pdf printed and bound

Hmm, wonder what you're referring to. My very first midi sequencing program was a fantastic product called Notator/Creator in which I made some great music with however didn't record Audio and ran on an Atari only.Alt + F4 = super secret function they don't want everybody to know about...but It only works after you work on a project for 2hrs w/o saving. Anyway, one of the functions that I thoroughly enjoyed was a series of button functions you could hit that inserted whatever you played into your project if you were just jamming along with what you had to get a feel for what you wanted to add. Sometimes that jam turned out to be the perfect fit and you forgot to hit record while you were just messing around, so by hitting these keys, it inserted this from the buffer.
Point is, while you play, everything is stored in the buffer until you stop playback. I often wondered if Cubase had such a feature.

Longtime Cubase user. I stop upgrading at SX3.3. Never upgraded to SX4. Never got any manual and I paid about $1000 once it was all added up.
