I have a Dell Inspirion 1501 Dual Core as the base of my system. I record everything to Mackie Tracktion 2 through a Tapco USB.

Other Gear:
AT2020 Condenser Mic
SM58S Mic
Alesis Vocal Processor (older one)
B.C. Rich Warlock Bronze guitar
Ibanez 405 Soundgear 5-String bass
Line 6 Spider II amp combo
Korg AX1500 pedal board
Line 6 Echo Park
Line 6 Verbzilla
Digitech Distortion Factory
MPD16 USB beat pad
Drumkit From Hell Superior VST

Anyway, I'm deploying again and bringing the studio with, and I'm looking at upgrading and adding onto my studio when I get back. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

The only weak spot that I can see is an upgrade to Tracktion 3. I found Tracktion 2 good, but find Tracktion 3 no less easy to use and more stable.

from the list of gear it sounds like you play hard or metal rock.
you should be able to get away with using digital drums with that genre.

The only thing i would add is a high end two channel mic pre with an inst. input.

your drums should sound clear as can be going digital
your bass would be direct in to the tapco
you double mic the spider, picking up pre amp from the tapco
and vocals thru the alesis into the tapco

this set up is OK, but you are depending on your tapco to thicken up the guitars, bass, and vocals.
you have good microphones, but you can get there full use running them thru a high end pre amp, and since you are using digital drums you only need two channels. you could actually get away with one channel, but then you couldn't double mic you spider.

in reality you have all you need to record a nice solo project, but this is just my opinion on something that might be your next step.
