I need a mic for recording my voice for tracks I am making.
Can I buy one for under 100 pounds and still get some quality from it?

Also wondering why there is a forum for pro-tools but not one for Reason or Live??

is it because you can't record with reason??

Live can be used to do live recording I thought thou!!

use the search function theres loads of mics in your price range. This questions been answered here so many times. I'm prone to thinking you are trolling, especially with those other 'questions'

Gumble's probably right, but I'll say that there wasn't a ProTools forum here until a couple weeks ago.

There's no reaper or that other crap most likely because the guy who built the site hasn't changed much in the 7+ years its been here, and those programs came along later.

As for mics, go with gumble's advice. Search the mic forum, title-only, for "vocal mic" "condenser" "100" "200", etc.

Reaper fourm is called Don't fear the Reaper. Just below the Cubebase fourm. Brand new.

I know its been said a billion times before, but you cant go wrong with 57's and at that price you could get two :)

If you are particularly thrifty you could probably get a 57 and two oktava mk012

Studio projects B1. Good all round mic.

Check out thomann. You can get a tube mic for just over £100. Check out the t.bone LDC mics at thomann. I've got a pair of SC300s(cheapest, £20), and they are decent for drum overheads/acoustic guitars. They're not great for vocals. They're ok on some people, but really not for others.

I'll be getting the SCT-700 tube mic once the contruction is complete.

Also check out the Audio Technica AT2020.

There are a lot of at least decent mics in that range. Which one you should choose depends on your voice. What does your voice sound like?
