it might sound sort of fanboy-ish, but i think i'd believe anything harvey says about mxl mics - he seems to be probably the most knowledgeable person in the world about their stuff, aside from maybe their employees

i've ordered 7 pin tube mic cables from there and it would be more like 50-60 bucks (they charge tax on interstate orders). the stock tube mic cables i've gotten with chinese mics (i've had 5) have generally been pretty poor quality and i'd want to replace it, unless they have significantly improved the quality (i.e. the connector won't separate from the wrap after a few uses). you can buy the mxl mogami cable for about $40-50 though (seeing as how they've bought up mogami).
still it looks like a good deal
