is it possible to add an effect or eq to a certain part of a track only, like you can draw in a fade or volume envelope when automating in sx3

Yes, you're able to totally automate effects/EQ etc.

Simply activate the read/write buttons in the top left corners of their windows, then any adjustments made during playback will be recorded. See the R/W buttons at the top left of this window?:

Not in front of my SX3 right now, but you *should* be able to open up automation tracks for them too, so you can draw and tweak just as you do with fader automation. (I'm about 70% certain you can)...

:)

tks

thats great

would you mind sharing how its done :)

You asked if it was possible to do it "like you can draw in a fade or volume envelope when automating in sx3".

I said Yes, because you can - exactly like you draw a fade or volume envelope when automating in sx3.

You can add automation tracks for EVERYTHING.

sorry if i was unclear

the problem i was having was selecting the effect into automation track

i did'nt know that the effect had to be selected and enabled in the track first then selected from the automation track where volume/mute/linked panner is go to more and select the effect from there

It doesn't. The automation tracks are for a each effect "slot", you can do many of the automations without having the effect in place, although I am not sure why you would want to do that. I would think you would want the plug in on the track before you tried to automate it, no?

thats what i meant by "the effect had to be selected and enabled in the track first"... im talking bout the standard effects in cubase
