standard midi for drums

Hi

Just wondering is there standard notes for instruments e.g drum kick = E
because I have midi songs (U2 etc..) with each instument having its own midi track.
I would like to know what the standard notes for drums are so I can place the correct sample to coincide with the right note.

I hope this makes sense I just know that windows media player and mobile phones seem to know what midi track and note should trigger instruments wish I knew.

thanks man, this awesome. just one thing that list has numbers instead of notes. it there another list I can look at that tells me what numbers coincides with notes. or do I chose chanel 10 when sequencing a drum machine with standard drum midi.
