in particular amplification although I do love the axes as well

yesiree I've been using a 112RD combo for years & years & just recently (getting it picked up tomorrow) procured a 2x10 musicman combo

I just wondered if there are any more musicman freaks who have managed to build a collection of amps that numbers more than 2:D:D:D:D

I really want to get a 120RD head

just remembered once at a festival I played I discovered the previous band's guitarist (Brendan Quinn) had a white 112RD & it even had an EV driver as mine does. It was great the only thing was......................I wish I'd used my own black one as well. I could've had a ying-yang amp setup

No MM amps yet but my MM guitar collection is gonna keep the youngest out of college if I don't get it under control :D

I love my HD130 to death and want another one very badly. Will be collecting them as soon as money starts coming in :D

MONEY yeah that's the reason the collection is only numbering 2 just now

did MM do a 2x12 combo???

Yep, they did an HD130 2x12, a sixty five, and probably some other ones. Also 2x10 and, if I remember correctly, 1x15 and 4x12 as well. Tons of cool combos.

Last Fall I was lucky enough to acquire a HD130 head (with a cab but not MM) from a friend and the thing is beautiful. Could use some cosmetic work (corners are rusty) but overall very good condition. Plenty of power. I'm not a collector but I do like the older amps. Found an interesting link while looking for info on my amp. Maybe you'll find some interest also. I don't think it's a company sight but more of a fan/collector sight, but lots of info.

In one of my greatest bonehead moves EVER- I decided that my 212-65 combo was not nearly metal enough- so I dumped it for $125.

ha my 1x12-65 is a pocket rocket especially with an EV driver:D

I still reckon that it stands up to the big stack blasters

the 210 I've got is an RP, I never clicked until I got the amp in & looked & it's got built in phaser, quite similar to Phase 90 if you set it right

the MM drivers aren't my favourite speaker TBH, it doesn't stay clean past 4 on the gain stage with a standard tele:eek: I think my hotrails would have the speakers limping out the door

SO!!!!!!!!!!!...................what replacement drivers would people recommend??? I'm into as clean as I can get TBH. I love the sound of the 112RD-65 with an EV

I don't know really, I was thinking about 2xalnico 10s at 75watts each by Jensen but I havn't looked yet

I've got a 2x10 MM combo. Older than me. I scored it for $400 about 10 years ago. It's heavy as hell, but sounds really good.

My father has a Music Man combo that was his main gigging amp for a while. I probably haven't laid eyes on it in 7 or 8 years, and I forget the details.

We talked about it when I picked up an old Peavey VT Classic because like the Peavey, his Music Man is like a reverse-hybrid with a solid state pre and a tube power section.
