Ill let yall decide on this one hahaha :D

Make sure you leave a reason why...

In my opinion Nirvana did with their bullshit grunge. Why? because closeminded teens thought it was cool and forgot about metal :( . Hell, they even forgot about alternative.

You're on a roll today!

METAL HASN'T BEEN DESTROYED. WHAT THE @#$%!@#$^ IS WRONG WITH YOU.

Metal killed itself. The sooner you accept that, the better off you'll be.

How soon we forget.

I picked Korn because they paved the way for Fred Durst's faggy jock rock. The true death of metal.

How the hell can you put Bad Religion on that list?

I chose Nirvana, but really I blame the MAJOR Record Labels.

:D :D :D :D I WANT MY MTV :D :D :D :D

I blame MTV for playing MUSIC only 42.87 minutes of each 24 hour period.

So true! +1 for you.

Well Bad Religion is the only punk band I like. Since punk also killed metal I just threw em in there. ;)

Me. They were the only hair act on the list. If you want to know who killed metal, that's the place to start.

Shame on you for listing Bad Religion.

For starters (yes I'm dating myself):
- RATT
- Poison
- Motley Crue
- Twisted Sister

...and all those other androgenous jerk-offs in the mid-80's.

When this trash came out, I abandoned metal for prog-rock (Yes, Genesis, ELP, Kansas, etc). I know - the music was self-indulgent, but at least I really learned how to play the guitar.

I don't think it's been destroyed but I think you're trying pretty hard to do just that.

what about the 80s hair metal bands? maybe they didnt destroy metal, just gave it a bad name?

See this is ridiculous. You can't blame grunge for "killing" metal, because Metallica sold more records during the high point of grunge than in the '80s. Metal had more airplay in the '90s than ever before. And to say that grunge killed alternative? That is patently absurd. There was more variety on album rock stations in the early '90s than ever before, including both grunge AND alternative. Crap man, have you ever seen the lineup for Woodstock '94? That was exactly what radio was like then.

Punk killed metal? Wow, that's a good one. I thought it was the self-indulgent hair bands of the late 80's/early 90's. I'm pretty sure punk, overall, died off before metal did. Also, If mainstream metal would have been any good when grunge came about, it wouldn't have been burried. And there are plenty of metal bands that did pretty well and were happy throughout the 90's, it's only people like loverboy and guys in hair bands that try to blame Nirvana for the fact that they were total ass hats.

I think the poll question should be changed to "what band does myhatbroke dislike the most?"

ARE YOU SERIOUS? Dave Grohl even came out with some cd as a tribute to metal cus HE himself said that Nirvana put an end to metal. When I mean by end I mean that you can't hear it on the radio anymore. Ofcourse the beauty of GOOD metal, even back in the 80's, you always had to stay up late to listen to it on the radio or on tv . But now theres no type of metal anywhere, just emo shit. And the emo shit came from punk and alternative and grunge shit. Theres no solos in any of the music you hear today. AAHHH Id rather have an 80's trend, at least they had true talent, and that is what I mean by that. Ofcourse you can find good metal if you look for it but I wish it was like back in the 80's :( ....

Death Metal is alive and kicking. As is black metal, doom metal, thrash, power, grind...
