Direct Input Recording, Behringer Xenyx 802 or Gemini Ps-1000?

Both appear to have sufficient inputs and controls for my needs. The Gemini is 40$ and the Behringer is 50$.
With sound quality in mind, for direct input of keyboards and guitars, which one should I go with?

I believe these are both Low/Medium quality as far as sound quality of the preamps are concerned. Can you pony up another 50 or so for a Yamaha or Allen and Heath? Is a mixer what you need or do you need an audio interface also? If you are planning on recording into a computer (using the computers sound card) your best audio quality gain will be by purchasing an audio interface with inputs for your instruments.

Why are you even considering a DJ mixer? What is your intended goal?

For direct input of guitars you may need an additional piece of equipment, a direct box or DI, regardless of the mixer you get. But that depends on the guitar in question.

Is there some reason you are looking at mixers? Most likely all you need is the right audio interface. There is a mixer/interface USB version of the 802 that might work.
