virtual instruments?

Hi people,

I've been playing around with a program called BeatCraft and was just wondering if you know of any other "virtual instrument" programs? I have no keyboard or midii, but just want to put together some more instruments on the beats i have, like guitar, keyboard bass, wind inst etc. Is there any such program kicking round out there? Something like beatcraft but other instruments, not just drums. Thanks all.

Fruity Loops is VERY fun to use VST-i instruments and whatnot. I'd highly suggest it, as it's not a horribly expensive problem, but is very versitile for the price. You can also try out the demo for free (the only thing is you can't save). Download it, try it, and buy it if you like it. Hell, it's only 99 bucks for the starter one!

Reason is one of the best programs for this. It's not really a VSTi but it works like one and has very realistic sounds for just about any instrument.

thanks folks, I tried reason but couldn't really figure how to use it without a midi instrument. I'll give the Fruity Loops demo a try.
